Hi I have a booking with Xcapewithus.com too. Credit card statement says xcapewithus not hotel name so the booking is probably lost.
The section 75 information on this website says that it doesnt apply when you buy things through a third party eg a travel agent so that may not be an option.
Does anyone know if travel insurance might cover this?

i phoned up our hotel directly and all the booking had been cancelled. presume that this will be the case across the board?

i just paid a deposit of £47 to xcapewithus so it's not too bad for us - we booked our own flights separately too

luckily as it was so soon after the cancellation the rooms were still free so i booked them drectly over the phone with the hotel.

    good luck everyone...

Check your credit card statement. If this shows 'Xcapewithus', you MAY have to claim back from your credit card company. Contact the hotel - they MAY have been paid for you booking - ie you may still be able to stay there.

If it says 'another company' or 'hotel name', your booking is probably safe as the hotel will have been paid for your booking.

just to confirm that the bank statement DOES state Xcapewithus.com however read my post above regarding whether your accommodation was actually paid for...

I'm afraid it may be more complicated. Since I already accessed my booking voucher and therefore have the address in my history I can still access it. It states.

Principal Name We act as a retail agent for Olympia Online with whom your accommodation has been booked.

Now the question is therefore have Olympia Online been paid in full for all their bookings. Because if they have say 100 booking and only 80% of the money for those bookings, most likely no one is going to get their holiday.

If however they pay for holidays as they go along, my suspicion is still that they will be in arrears with booking the holidays. They will probably be paying at the last minute.

The problem is I cannot find anything about this mysterious hotel booking company, nothing at all.

Therefore everything may end up being okay, or it may not.

It also has the telephone number of the hotel so if I get brave I will give them a call.

It is uncertain leave it and I may not end up in the place I want to be, book something else and I might still be able to recover this. Sad you can't press rewind.

EDIT: Just got the guts to phone them up and you would not believe how wonderful it felt when they I said the surname and the date that we were booked for and they said my first name and the fact that it was for four people. The question is do I have to do this everyday until we go?

All the best for everyone this affects and fingers crossed.

from what i understand after some googling today...:

xcapewithus.com was based in majorca (sorry, can't post links to the referring site as i'm a "new user") and i DID read somewhere about olympia being the spanish business that ran the uk registered xcapewithus - however i can't now find the link to the olympia stuff...

So I suppose the question is has Olympia also gone into administration. It would not surprise me if they have come to the conclusion that the current offers are unsustainable, and they will not be able to honour those who have paid deposit, but the rate has dropped.

The only news I can find is...

  • We used with them less than a month ago staying in a hotel in the Algarve. I did some research on the company back in March before deciding to book with them. They had consistently good reviews. Sad to hear they've gone.
