Ok, all may not be lost, I believe my hotel booking was made via hotelbedsonline and have just called my Hotel in Venice and the booking is still showing as valid and paid in full
However, I do not have a voucher as this is no longer accessible on the xcapewithus.com website, anyone know how I can get the voucher and also anyone have a contact number for hotelbedsonline as I would like to check the booking with them?
Thanks in advance
have you got a link to their website?? i made a booking and have the voucher printed out. i also saved the booking number in seperate place. ii cant get he voucher back off their website thou sorry.
how did you tell if your booking still says paid in full on hotelbedsonline?
i have let down 8 girls thru all this, i no it was only £30 each, but now i dont know where to book a hotel - who is trustworthy
thanks for everyones message!

I booked sol lunamar in palma nova for 20th june, I`ve sent e-mail to customer support but had no response so i e-mailed the apartments directly this morning asking if they had any information on my booking ,the reply was "For the moment we did not receive the cancellation for your reservation" I then sent further e-mail asking if they had been paid ,the reply "No we did not receive any payment the payments are done 30 days after the clients have checked out the hotel" I cant see sol letting me stay if they Know they are not going to get paid after i`ve left. it seems that some of the theories on currency fluctuations are correct, xcape took my money on 27th april they wouldnt have to pay lunamar till august 3rd thats over 3 months.0

Phoned the hotel direct and they say booking has been paid in full although I will need a voucher to check in and I can't get one from xcapewithus.com, they mentioned the room was booked by hotelbedsonline, hopefully the booking won't subsequently be cancelled as I have no idea if xcapewithus have paid hotelbedsonline
Hoping xcapewithus reply to my email on Tuesday and send me the voucher
All a bit uncertain!0 -

I booked £5434 worth of hotels through Xcapewithus in April and paid for the lot with bank transfers and Solo cards. I pray that the hotels have been paid but like everyone else haven't heard anything yet from Xcape. My experience is documented on the sletoh dot com blog.
Sadly customers needing to rebook may find that the hotel prices have increased. To book at the best possible current price, customers should compare hotels and of course double check that the company you book with is financially sound! Even though it might cost 2-3% more to do so, pay by credit card to make sure that your next booking is protected.
I will be re-booking rooms with one of the following companies after comparing hotels on sletoh dot com (I work for them):
Alpharooms - been around for a long time and dominate European holiday hotel bookings market. Protection offered on hotel and flight packages.
Laterooms / Activehotels - book rooms with these guys and you pay when you check out of the hotel. No money upfront means no risk.
GTAhotels - good range of hotels, good prices and from my experience working with them (we are an affiliate and they pas us commission on booings) they pay on time each month.
Hotels.com - massive company and owned by private equity firms. Don't see any risk with these guys.
Octopus Travel - again owned by private equity money and part of a much bigger oraganisation. Doesn't partake in heavy discounting so makes money on each booking and has therefore probably got a lot of cash in the bank.
Superbreak - been around for years and years. Very strong in the UK and main Europe destinations. Be surprised if anything went wrong with this company.
Hope this helps you all sort our your summer holidays! Happy to help and have good knowledge of the industry and the companies if anyone needs advice.
Good luck!

I am so incredibly upset. I booked a hotel with them for £246 in early March with my Maestro card and didn't get travel insurance. I know I will not get any of my money back
Can someone please advise me what I should do next? I am a student so that's a lot of money for me. I called up the hotel and they don't have a booking for me (but I suspect they may not have heard my name correct so I will ring them again). My holiday is obviously cancelled but I am desperate to get at least some of my money back! 0 -
Ben's post might be well meaning, but I would regard it as advertising as it lists companies that his employers deal with. From the aspect of financial stability hotelopia (owned by TUI) and hotels4u (Thomas Cook) would doubtless rank higher than the sites he lists.0

I agree with apt on Hotels4U and Hotelopia - both massively backed and safe companies to book with. Earlier on this thread there were several mentions of HotelBedsOnline being the provider of Xcapewith us accommodation bookings. Hotelopia and HotelBeds are both part of TUI, HotelBeds being the B2B (business to business) side and Hotelopia being the B2C (business to consumer) side. As a B2B company, HotelBeds supply lots of travel companies (including severla of the ones I mentioned before) so many people's hotel vouchers will say "booked and payable by hotelbeds".
P.S. I tried to make my association with sletoh known so hope my posts are still useful.0 -
