    Afternoon troops xxx

Its been a gorgeous day today and I've been stuck inside. Just finished work for the day though so I'm off food shopping to grab a few bits to last us through the weekend. I'll dig out a dvd to do later as well.

binky - I missed that programme but will try to catch it on iPlayer, sounds really interesting thanks :D

shapeshifter - that gazelle looks lethal but i'm strangely intrigued by it! Do they take up a lot of room or can it be folded up? I want a cross-trainer but our flat is too small for equipment that can't be folded up to save space, plus they're waaaay too expensive.
All the coffee in Columbia won't make me a morning person... :D:p

  • Jeezo - that gazelle certainly looks impressive! I think I'd be worried I'd fall off! ;)

Erm - not doing very well on cutting down on the snacking today! :o

    Brekkie: Porridge
    Snack(S): 1. Banana 2. Nectarine
Lunch: Small Baked sweet potato, with extra light philadelphia and fresh chives
Dinner: Some kind of pasta ready meal

Don't normally eat so many carbs - but I have my fat busting boot camp tonight, and I got in trouble last week for the little I'd been eating! Apparently the class burns 500 - 700 calories though it's so intense - so hopefullt my 'tatoe can be forgiven! ;):D

    xx

PS Binky - that actually made me laugh out loud!! :rotfl:Im sure your "wobbly bits" don't get in the way at all!!

    morning all!
crapwithmoney, how did your class go last night did you actually have a monitor on to see how many calories you burned or did they just tell you it would be between 500 and 700?
i was thinking about getting a monitor but they are so expensive and i suppose when all the gym equipment tells you anyway it would only be used for aerobics at home because i'm still not brave enough to go to classes but i'm getting there!
It's very strange as far as i can tell i have stayed the same this week and my measurements are still the same but my boyfriend keeps teling me i look like i'm getting thinner by the day
He promises that he is not just saying it to make me feel good other people have mentioned it as well but i can't see or feel a difference.
I used the calorie count site yesterday for the first time and i managed to finish under 1500 calories which i think is good. i tried my best to be exact or slightly over estimate where i was unsure for example i stole some bits of dd's happy meal but i recorded i ate half of it to make sure i didn't underestimate.
I will aim for the same again today and got lots of housework to do so that will be my exercise for the day. Am hoping for it to be nice and sunny so i can get lots of washing done and get some sunshine while dd plays outside.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.
  • Morning all!!

Binky The class was much better last night - thanks! :D It was still hard going, but I survived the full class so that's the main thing! I'm sure there is a difference in you - even just a couple of lbs is enough for other people to notice - and as Adrianhi pointed out, sometimes you can be gaining muscle as well as losing fat, which means your shape will be changing, even if the numbers on the scales aren't!

Am I right in thinking you had joined another exercise thread on here a while back? Or am I mixing you up with someone else? The one run by missy? You've nothing to be afraid of going to the classes, this time last year I felt exactly the same, but they're honestly never as bad as you'd expect, plus, with the majority you have options to choose what level you're working at, so you never have to work harder than you're able - and worst comes to the worst, you can always stand at the side for a wee min or 2 and grab a drink of water!

The PT just told us that, so it might not have been as much, but that's just a general guide!

Good news for me this morning - I weighed in at 9 stone 10lbs!! Which means 2 off!! :D Although, I'll not count it as an official loss unless I hold onto it 'til Monday! it is quite a good incentive to take the car to the party I'm going to tomorrow rather than drinking! But we'll see how I hold out with that one!! ;)

yes i was on missy's exercise thread for a while but i kind of drifted away for a month or so and went off the exercise. I was and still am terrified of exercise but i must have improved because i have been to the gym on my own more and i have started to exercise at home more. It's just going to a class i still can't do but i'm working my way up to it!

Count me in, although 7lbs may be optimistic as I just found this thread and it’s already the llth. :D

My ideal weight is around 10st, as I’m tall and broad shouldered/hipped and hour-glass shaped. My boobs and butt will never let me weigh 8st or something lol. At 10st, I’m a size 10 top/12 bottom and happy with my figure.

Unfortunately my weight crept up to 12st (I’ll blame OH moving in and us cooking lots of nice meals together, always with a bottle of wine, plus snacking more – you should see how much junk food he eats though he hasn’t put on weight).

So, Easter Monday I got myself a Wii Fit and I’m combining that with a diet. I’ve cut out bad snacks and weeknight alcohol (Fridays and Saturdays only for drinks). Also cut my portion sizes at dinner; what we eat is pretty healthy, I just ate too much. I do a Wii Fit workout every evening Mon-Thurs, and OH and I are very outdoorsy at the weekends (typical weekend = country walk of 5-10 miles on Saturday and 18 holes of golf on Sunday). It almost makes up for my completely inactive (physically!) desk job.

Weight hasn’t exactly been dropping off but it’s on the way down which is good. Wii Fit target is 3lbs every 2 weeks. So far it’s gone:

    13th April – 12 stone
    27th April – 11 stone 11 lbs
    11th May – 11 stone 9 lbs (missed target :()

So at the start of May I was probably still 11-11.

I'm going to the Lake District on 6th June with OH and want to be down to 11 stone by then (likely to still be a couple of pounds over at this rate). I’m then going to Weymouth with my mum and brother the last week of August, and I want to be down to my 10 stone target by then. I know from experience that the weight loss rate will seriously slow once I hit about 10 and a half, but fingers crossed!

Only down to 11-6, so 5 pounds down on the month. :( The last week has been dire - v little exercise and food not great. Work's been really busy so I've been knackered every night. :(

Time to start again in June! Though June does have holiday week when I refuse to go easy on the fantastic cooked breakfast and 3 course dinners at the lovely hotel we stay in. :D
  • eh - why the sad face?! 5lbs in a month is a phenomenal loss!! It's maybe not quite as much as you'd like - but it's still something to be proud of!! :j:T:j Get yourself a 5lb weight and carry it around for an hour or 2, then you'll see how much you've really lost! :D

I have a dilemma! One of the women in the office goes on hols on Monday, and apparently it's their tradition that they get cakes in the day before they go away to celebrate - so I volunteered and made a cheesecake - It's my favourite, and it's pretty damn good if i do say so myself! Should I grant myself a wee tiny slither? hhhhhmmmmm..........

  • Whoops - I had a wee cheeky slice - wouldn't like to be rude to the chef! ;):rotfl:It was a very, very small piece though - and it's the first naughty thing I've had all week - so I'll not beat myself up too much! :D
