If the property is in negitive equity you need to accept that the deposit is gone, unless he REALLY wants the house he's not about to pay you money to get it.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -
I think its a bit presumptious to demand monies back.
If you are in negative equity let me spell it out very clear and simple for you (I lived in keighley, west yorkshier for 18 years of my life btw)
Ok:
1. If the house is in negative equity.. it is likely to be at least 2,000-3,000 pounds in negative equity. Your share of this is -1,000 to -1,500 pounds!
THERE IS NO MONEY, THERE IS ONLY DEBT.
Would you be fighting over taking half of your ex's 2,000 pound credit card bill? No you wouldn't.... this is exactly the same as with a house.
2. If you sell a house you lose a fair bit through fees and commision etc... so its even moer ££££s cost
In summary the best way to deal with this is to get your name off the mortgage, don't negotiate too hard as he will just keep you on mortgage. His friend most likely won't want to go on mortgage with him either... so in all honesty I think you are stuck on mortgage with him for a while.
Whereabouts in WY you from?0 -
Nahr his friends wants on the morgage and i want off as they have ideas for the house application is in to Northern Rock for Peter to take my place on the morgage and concidering her earns more then me it shouldt be a problem.
The house is £9,000 in negative equity!!
And i live in Halifax:kisses2:to find a rainbow you must go through the rainto find true love you must go through the pain0 -
halifax is pretty close.
Yep... so that means that if he wanted to, he could ask you to give him 4,500 pound to cover your share of the current loss.
Most likely if you sold it would prob amount to 15,000 including fees and any discounts you took.. so i'd be happy just giving it over to his mate.
This literally will set you free, otherwise you could have alot of debt for a long time.
But certainly push for his mate to take it over.0 -
