Transfer takes 6-9 weeks? In 2009? Rubbish!!!
Energy transfer to take place 21 days from sign-up, providing account no more than (say) £40 in debt.

You should be allowed to top up your Oyster Card in £1.60 increments (or whatever your single fare is), rather then the £10, £20 etc offered. There is always some money left on the card that never gets used and stays in TFL coffers.

Air travel prices should be transparent and include everything, ALL taxes, baggage allowances so the price you see is ALL you will pay to get you to your destination. No more nasty hidden surprises you are unable to avoid at the airport!

Except the card-payment surchage scam, airlines already do this. I think there is a danger of stifling competition if discretionary charging was restricted. Which discretionary charges would be included? in-flight food? in-flight drinks? sporting equipment? ticket flexibility? limo-to-the airport?

Remeber no-one HAS to fly ryanair, if people don't like the way they price, then they could choose to fly with full-service airlines instead!

I know commuters are the ones who use the trains the most, but we are the ones keeping the train companies in business and who get hammered with ridiculously astronomical season ticket costs. Make those who use trains just for the occasional, and optional day out, pay a bit more and then commuters cost could reduce a bit. If you only use the train every so often then it's not such a large cost.

Council tax for those living alone should be reduced to at least 50% of the full rate not the current 75%. A couple living together effectively only pay 50% each, so why should a single person pay 25% more to use the same services?

Stamp duty should be payable on the amount over the threshold, and not the full cost of the property. Spending just £1 over the £175,000 means you are liable to a £1750.01 tax bill, rather than a fairer 1p. The current system of taxing the full amount leaves the system open to abuse whereby buyers and sellers do 'deals' to avoid paying the stamp duty. A fairer system means this would occur much less.
  • Approving or rejecting MPs expenses should be done by the taxpaying public not paid 'independent reviewers'. This could work like jury service where a member of the public (who has volunteered to join a scrutiny register) is called up and spends two weeks going through claims.

    This would:-
Bring rents in line with each other - safeguarding tenant's.
Make it easier to find housing.
Bring more money into the economy by stopping tax evasion.

  • There is much trust placed in financial institutions that the amount of interest paid or charged is true and accurate. As we know 'mistakes' happen and it would be fair for the consumer to know just how the final figure arose.

Im on a War Pension with no other income, my wife looks after me yet recieves no allowance for herself and we still, with the exemption of medication for pensionable condition, have to pay for perscriptions, dental and glasses.
Why after serving Queen and country are we treated like this?
