Great “Improve Money Rules In 50 Words” Hunt. What easy changes for our politicians

All companies' AGM resolutions include a recommendation to permit "Political donations" and "Political Expenditure".
As these can only ever really be a euphemism for "providing backhanders to politicians" in whatever form, or for "buying influence", then these should be forbidden.
If any company director or board wants to influence policy, then they should simply write a letter to their MP, or to a relevant minister. In this day and age, there is no place for peddling influence.
This might also help to remove the preponderence of lobbying companies who merely milk both ends of the process.0 -
Bring back the Individual Learning Account.
ILA Scotland gives £200 a year to those earning below £18,000 for training of their choice on approved courses.
About time this was more widely available.0 -
My mum used ILA to fund most of her IT course, she had to pay the first £25 and then anything over the ILA amount which I think was £125. Excellent idea.52% tight0

Contraversial, but I think EMA should be for all or none.52% tight0

I feel it is unjust that homebuyers have to pay the full stamp duty rate according to the whole property value. I'd like the system revised to match income tax approach so that the next tax band only applies to the amount of money over and above the band below.0

Insurance Companies to give a breakdown of the increase or decrease in the particular fund value instead of giving you the value of the fund only at the anniversary date. No way of checking if they have applied all dividends etc. or even what interest rate they are paying.0

Stop Penalising Carers
Carers allowance should be increased as they are worth more than £53 for 35+ hours care a week. If carers earn more than £95 they receive no carers allowance, increase or abolish this limit as carers save the government thousands of pounds.0 -
All MPs are members of the Public in exactly the same way as every other member of the Public is, except that they are elected to represent their peers, they are MOST DEFINITELY NOT a higher or different class.
All representatives of the public in any form of legislative body should be taxed and levied for exactly the same things as every other member of the public and in exactly the same way; with absolutely no perks or claims other than those that every other member of the PUBLIC is entitled too.
The amount that they are paid should be stipulated by an independent body which is completely seperate from any elected body and should be proportional to the average national income and index linked.
And that should be it! fullstop! then they pay what ever they need to from that!:AHave faith in yourself and reach for the sky,

Thre should be No financial or Credit advertising included with Bank or Credit Card Statements that people receive monthly or weekly or on a regular basis.
People should be allowed to choose what kind of extra financial deals they want freely without constantly being bombarded by their own or other financial institutions on a regular basis due to them being part of that or any other financial institutions "captive" audience.
This kind of advertising has a wear me down effect and believe it or not due to its constant repetition it also has a subliminal effect despite the lengthy frequency of its application.Have faith in yourself and reach for the sky,

HMRC are not permitted to investigate MPs for any tax offences whilst they are in office, only if they fail to be re-elected is it allowed. That should be changed so they have no such special protection. Fraud is fraud and theft is theft, whoever they are.0
