  • Increase council tax and have free buses, as an incentive to use them.

Have a sliding tax scale between the minimum and maximum tax charged.

Bring England into line with Scotland over prescription charges and university tuition fees.

Make all new-build houses more insulation efficient and with solar panels to heat water.

Housing should be a fundamental human right in any society considering itself civilised.

Introduce usury laws, anything "double-figured" over the real rate of inflation is despicable and inhuman.

When banks send letters to customers telling you about a bank charge they should explain where that charge is being spent. ie. 35p for Postage, £2 Staffing costs. Might stop them over charging if they have to reveal a true cost.

Buy a car on finance, and yuo are hit with an admin fee of around £100 to set it up, and then on your last payment they do the same again to send you the documents. Overpriced and unfair. A small admin fee would be fine, but companies need to see sense.

Like others, there is more than one idea in there!

    1. No income tax on the first £10,000 you earn (around the minimum wage level)

    2. No income tax on savings (if made from taxed earnings)

    3. Health tax on tobacco of £3 per packet payable on imported cigarettes

    4. Flat rate council tax across country dependent on size and value of propoerty.

    5. Green taxes on poluting cars, carrier bags and high energy imports.

    6. Credit card limits capped at 3months earnings and rates only allowed to increase by a maximum of 2.5% per annum (including promotional offers)

    7. Maximum bank penalty charges of £5 per infraction and a maximum of £20 per month.

    8. 'Debt to society' deductions to be made from salary and/or benefits for those convicted of crime for an appropriate period and proceeds to be used to fund prison service, police and services for the victims of crime.

    9. Compulsory pension contributions and an end to final salary schemes where small percentage of the population get guaranteed income at the expense of the tax bill on those who may be earning much less.

    10. End to age discrimination: One set of tax rules for everyone, regardless of age and a 'fair' state pension and care system that eliminates pensioner poverty.
Smile :), it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

    Hi folks

    A couple of quick notes.

    1. BBC Politics show dropped it this week but it may run next sun
    2. Those who do lots of posts in one, you're effectively disqualifying the idea from being thanked - in the notes we did explain one idea per note.
    3. This is about simple, non controversial ideas that help consumers - so ways of raising tax, cutting MPs earnings, or closing down the armed forces aren't going to get far. its worth focusing on real change for everyday hassles.

  • We should forget about percentage pay rises once a for all & use flat sums.
    Not Again
  • Our farmers need our cash and support to continue to provide us with our food.
If undercut by big companies producing inferior quality for a quick buck they won't be
there to supply our needs when crisis hits - drought, flood, disease, population growth.
Government - protect our farmers, help make Britain self sufficient.
Don't put all our eggs in one supermarkets basket.

Have a kitchen and store cupboard in every school.Teach the kids to cook simple food from scratch, then serve it up at school dinners.

Teach all our children to read, write, fill in forms and do arithmetic/ basic finance calculations, how credit works etc.

What they learn at school they will take with them in other aspects of life.
