1) All tariffs flat rate. (perhaps excluding E10 and E7)
2) End standing charges on billing. (we don't need to know this)
3) Price changes should be across all tariffs.*
4) Remove VAT on first 'X' kWh - a social measure.
5) Ring fence energy VAT for energy efficiency.
* Today's BG reduction does not decrease on some of the social tariffs effectively making winter fuel allowance a subsidy to energy companies.0 -
1) A provisional energy efficiency rating for all households by cross referencing council tax and anonymised consumption. Needs a reference year and value. This will also flag up council tax and energy bill evasion.
2) Prioritise energy efficiency by social need and inefficiency - preferably by street.
3) Minimum energy efficiency for all households.
4) Independent watchdog for energy efficiency improvements.
5) Executive salaries and dividends based on y/y energy efficiency improvements of customers.
6) HA's and LGA's to receive funding based on y/y energy efficiency improvements of households.
Hopefully stakeholders now have a common goal towards energy efficiency.0 -

Hi
FSA is pointless organisation and only acts after the event, no good to people who have lost their money. Remember Farepak the Christmas savings club.
Have an organisation working for the people not the financial industry.

Just as a little note. BBC1's Sunday politics show has picked up on this and I will be filming a brief interview for them this morning for Sunday. Im not sure which of the suggestions will be picked out, but it shows we're on the march.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.

I'm with banksey - the FSA rarely sanction financial companies (taking away their licences) because it makes them look like they failed to act earlier to stop the rot, and we can't have the FSA looking bad now, can we?0

Moneymakingmum - the University of Warwick has shown that you can build a Formula 3 spec race car with recycled (and recyclable) materials - now if only the authorities for Formula 3 and upwards would adopt the ideas.
New rule: better and tighter controls on charities, especially the big "national" ones (who are anything but), chuggers and doorstep collections, including the collection bags dropped in by third parties hired by charities - charity bosses: if you can afford these avenues of fundraising, you have money already, use it for your actual work!0 -
Women are unfairly discriminated against because they all have menstrual cycle - no choice in the matter whatsoever. Birth control is already available on the NHS which is an entirely voluntary thing. So sanitary protection should be similarly available.
