When seeking a new quote, we need car Insurers to be required to complete a set template of standard costs & benefits, to remove the confusion over which cover is best.0

Councils and housing associations need to build a set quota per year to keep up with massive demand for housing. Not even one house per council was built last year. Twenty first century energy efficiency compulsory.0

The roads are public places and through Vehicle Excise Duty we pay for the privilege of using them. By allowing local authorities to charge again for this, it disuades people from going into towns, thereby damaging businesses in those towns.0

Why should I have to know how long it will take me to queue up in the bank/bakery/cobbler and conduct my business?
People should be allowed to pay afterwards for parking they have used, and not fined for failure to correctly predict the future.0 -
If I only need to pop into one place and then leave, why should I have to pay for an hour's worth of parking?
Let people pay only for the time they need (...and allow them to pay for it afterwards, rather than in advance).0 -
I walk the children to school to consciously use less petrol, less pollution. Formula one then has thirty cars do seventy laps, and many other races worldwide -cars and bikes. It is my air too they are polluting, it is time to stop the double standard.
Let the companies invest in clean energy solutions, race solar, water, steam cars.
My mile walk is a drop of clean air compared to their ocean of pollution.0 -
It is suggested that only 1 in 6 pays for prescriptions. At £7.10, this makes it very expensive for those who do pay.
Make ALL prescriptions chargeable at £1. This will make it less of a problem for those who do pay, but £1 ought not be too much of a burden for those currently enjoying free prescriptions.
It might even change the habits of some who collect free prescriptions yet never use the medicines.0 -
Savings statements should show all interest rates applied during the period AND the precise calculations used to determine the interest paid (or owing, for other accounts).
We should be able to trust banks' calculations, but experience suggests that this is not something to be taken lightly!0 -

Sorry for chatting (again) - while I would prefer your idea, or for everyone to get it free, at the moment I pay around £10 monthly for an annual prescription certificate. It's cheaper than buying each prescription when I need it. Whenever prescription charges are mentioned on MSE there are always people who didn't know you could pay monthly, so I thought it might be worth mentioning - perhaps one of martin's rules could be that all chemists could display a poster explaning the options - or the front and back of the prescription could make it clear to people.52% tight0 -
With a large family a price for a holiday during school time is reasonable but during the school holidays it more than doubles. It is classed as 'unauthorised absence' to remove your child during school term. Legislation to curb this blatant greed would stop this practice.0
