There should be ONE set of tax rules for all, so the overhead is shared correctly; MPs and civil servants working for UK-Ltd should be taxed like Joe Bloggs, working for a Private-Ltd, with expenses that comply to the granite rule of “wholly and exclusively for the business purpose.”

As a former Civil Servant, I can assure you they are subject to exactly the same tax rules. Civil servants are generally poorly paid in comparison to the private sector at all levels below Grade 7 in the senior civil service.

    My vote is for:
"Make all airlines show a breakdown of their taxes and charges"

There is far too much variation between them, even on the same routes.

CAR PARKING IN DESIGNATED CAR PARKS (as opposed to parking in road locations with short-stay purposes/needs) should not be subject to fines & towing away etc if owner returns late. In such cases, owner should only be charged the extra pro-rata cost of the parking fee when collecting vehicle.

Stop rewarding people financially for having children, you should only have children if you are capable of providing for them yourself.

If you happen to be in a position where you can not support your own children and your family are not willing to support you do not get your own flat and benefits you have to go live in a workhouse (to this century's standards not the horrific ones off Victorian times) and work to provide for yourself and your child.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:what if you cant work after you have had the kids, due to an unexpected illness, should the kids be shot:confused::rolleyes:

Does the fact you did work AND did contribute exempt you from your plan

It is not true. A new kitchen or plasma would never get past the granite rule. Also I believe they have a different rate for use of car, far higher than the 40p/mile we less equal types have to be content with. There are loads more of these.

I suppose they could go to the workhouse - I don't know about you though, if you can't work perhaps it's you who'd be shot

I think it is sensible to encourage more births, so that there will be plenty of people working and producing tax revenue when we retire. Where else will the Pension monies come from, they spend it hand to mouth.

But i suffer more by making me have to live, where is the fun in shooting me, making me try to live on benefits is far more entertaining.

PS i think you missed the point of national insurance;) , but then so have most MP's:rolleyes:

"Books on prescription" is a scheme whereby doctors can write prescriptions for patients to read a book to help them with their conditions. Books are borrowed from local libraries. The scheme should be extended so that debt councillors can write prescriptions to help their clients with books re debt management etc.

(I'm editing this to add some info which is not part of my word limit and to say why I've made this suggestion. I work p/t in a library. Most town libraries will have a selection of books on financial issues, from easy reads like those by Martin and Alvin Hall, through to heavier books, like how to deal with bankruptcy. Similarly, I know from people who I know who work in CAB and debt charities that they are overwhelmed by the number of people approaching. Therefore this strikes me as being a practical way of offering another service to people who need debt support without really incurring major costs, particularly if it offers a way to charities of helping more people by setting "homework" to those capable of getting some info about their situation themselves. The library and CAB/debt charity can share their book lists, then the charity just needs to send the person with the particular debt problem down to the library with the title of the best reading solution for their need).
