No idea yet. I want to switch banks but really can't decide who to choose.
I thought HSBC but their savings rates are aren't worth considering. Not a fan of Lloyds and their online banking is sh*t. Don't qualify for any Barclaycards so no point choosing them. Judging by the amount of posts about Santander, I think it's best to stay clear of them also. Hmmm....
Go With HSBC.
I have banked with most of the highstreet banks and HSBC are the best.
The only alternative I would suggest is First Direct.
I have held a HSBC account for 14 Years.
HSBC are pretty good with lending as long as you build a good internal score with them. They normally give credit after 6mths of regular funding and debit transactions from you'r account.
My credit score is abysmal yet I was able to get a credit card after 6mths and the limits doubled every 6 months and now carries a limit of £5500.
Hope this helps0 -

Just applied for the Capital One Plus card.
It asked me to sign the credit agreement, which I did, but it never really said if I was accepted or declined. It just said they'll make some further checks and I should hear from them within 7 days.
I thought you were accepted if they wanted you to sign the agreement online? We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Interesting. Two mainstream cards within the space of a few days. I didn't think I'd get that card as it asked for a long history of perfect credit management, and a very good credit history. I've only had credit cards for 2 years and wouldn't consider that a long history.
I think it is best I stop hitting the Apply button, especially having reached 5 cards. I'll have to be tougher on myself. No more applications until next year at the least. :mad:We’ve had to remove your signature. Hi all,
I got into a spot of bother with egg card when I was 18, and was ccj'd a few years later in 2006 for £280. I wasnt able to get any finance after that except for a welcome car loan which I have paid on time every year since february 2006.
I recently applied for a vodafone contract tocco and and o2 dongle/laptop which were accepted straight away.
I then applied for jacamo and marisota which were also accepted straight away, each with a limit of £125.
Today I applied for Very and got £300 limit, then I applid for Littlewoods and got £500 limit, then I applid for Choice and got £600 limit, then I applied to Great Universal and got £550 limit, Kays gave me £550 and finally I applied to Empire and got £550 limit.
I do not plan to buy anything on these catalogues, I just couldnt believe they were giving me credit
I feel a bit guilty about getting so many in one day - is this normally okay? I am in shock to be honest - I hope they dont think I am a fraudster or something!
I cannot get a creditcard for the life of me though, something that really would be useful...0
