They cannot pre decline you but they do check old account history prior to agreeing any lending - all banks do. So if its within the last 6 years then you may struggle but to be fair, Crappy1 aren't called that for no reason are they..... :D

We'll find out soon enough just how crappy they are when I find out my limit. They were tight bastar*s when I had my classic card, so it'll be interesting to see if they'll still be tight bastar*s now that I'm mainstream.

Next have lowered my credit limit to..... £0! I tried to order something last week and got a letter this morning informing me of their decision but it does say they will continually review my account and my limit.

LOL don't you ever clear the account to zero then or are they just being crazy? I hear they sometimes change credit limits month on month for some people?

The letter from Next said my limit will be my balance until it reaches zero but they "regularly review limits" so I wouldn't be surprised that nexy month it shows up as £3600.

At least it means I cannot buy anything! :D

Will wait for next paper statement in December and if showing zero on there they can stick the account.
If limit returns then I will use periodically as some good stuff.

I phone them up every 3 months to cancel my directory. I don't see the point in spending £3.95 on something that will never be used as you can see everything for free online
