  • Quite possibly as they do subscribe to CC's feeds now - but they would never decline you based on a report from CC - they use the big 2 (as at todays date of course).... :D

This means, to you, that although you won;t see any pre-approved offers as such, you may get an instant accept if your credit file is clear. So assuming your equifax file is clean then log-in and apply for a barclaycard and you may well get accepted based on equifax report and your internal behaviour. :D
I applied and got declined for the initial recently. What a pain in the a$$.

    1. Did you appeal? 2. Is your cifas clean?

    1. If not then appeal mate! You have a good chance cos you're existing customer :D

If so, what did they say? What 'reason' of the 3 (credit scoring/adverse or cra related)?

    2. When did you last see cifas? You know if you have applied somewhere that used CC's data they could have added a cifas, for instance the account mentioned in this post with Barclays.... maybe barclays cifas'd you? I get a new cifas report 6 monthly nowadays mate
    :o 2010 - year of the troll :o

Got a reply from my appeal that was useless. It says our underwriters have re-assessed the descion using the EXPERIAN credit file you provided to us and were unable to overturn the descion.

In the orginal decline letter it didn't really stipulate why I failed and it didn;t mention this in the appeal responce

If you get credit searched for a bank account, does that affect your rating?

Yes, this will still affect your credit score however searches are only classed as adverse if you have too many in quick succession or your credit file is thin or poor ;)

No idea yet. I want to switch banks but really can't decide who to choose.

I thought HSBC but their savings rates are aren't worth considering. Not a fan of Lloyds and their online banking is sh*t. Don't qualify for any Barclaycards so no point choosing them. Judging by the amount of posts about Santander, I think it's best to stay clear of them also. Hmmm....
