My MBNA appeal (which I sent recorded delivery) still hasn't been delivered yet. Bloody strikes.

Royal Mail is getting more worse and more unreliable as each day passes. I could catch a train to England and hand deliver my mail faster.

I don't understand why they're all striking. They get paid plenty and theres 2+ million people who desperately want a job. Give the jobs to someone who wants them is what I say.

    !I'M SOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!

Just called Barclaycard after applying for Initial yesterday, to be told that I have been approved! I'm over joyed :)

I can finally present something to a cashier that doesn't have "SUB PRIME" written all over it! And of course a sub-30% APR, which is nice.

God bless Equifax for "Fixing" my linked address. God bless them indeed :D:D:D

    Hi Aaron44!

Welcome back to the world of credit, seems you're doing well with Vanquis and JD Williams.

Have you obtained a copy of your credit report to ensure all the old adverse data has dropped off? Remember, all of the default dates from your old credit account should have been on or prior to the date of the IVA and as such after the six years lapses (five years for IVA + 12 months) there should no longer be any adverse.

    This should be the case with you so once you've held vanquis and JD for six months you should be alright to get a Cap 1 classic and in another six months a Barclaycard Initial;

Good luck, and keep us posted! ;)

    Hi iZool,

I have indeed started to clean my credit file up, Experian is clean and displaying everything as it should (It didnt originally though, there were 4 accounts still showing balances!!)! Equifax has an outstanding balance that should show as settled as per the IVA completing, but I have to chase Max Recovery to ask them to update!

Call credit seem a little reluctant to send me a report, as they have asked me to send further ID, despite both Equifax and Experian having no problems sending me my report!

It's a fairly long process to get everything clean, but will be worth it in the end :)

Oh and congrats on the Barclaycard!! :T

    Thanks
    Aaron

    Thank you.

Although I've been talked into using the 6.9% LOB offer to help my OH with his Vanquis Balance... Ah well takes the temptation away from me using it I suppose ;)

RE: Cleanup of your credit file, good work so far, you may find you need to write to the various creditors enclosing proof of completion of your IVA signed by the IP or stamped by the court or whatever before they update the accounts as settled.

Check the default dates, too - they should all be on or before the IVA date - if any aren't, raise a notice of dispute against them explaining what is wrong and the various creditors should permit Experian / Equifax / Call Credit to make the alterations.

RE: Request for ID. I had the same thing from Call Credit, not the other two, they couldn't see anything on my file, because of some subtle difference in the way they hold my address and they way my creditors report the address... odd, never mind!

Keep up the good work ;)

Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
