Oh and BTW technically I don't qualify either and their pre-app checker told me to take a hike - so not as accurate as one may think!!
Thats cos the pre app checker searches Call Credit but when you actually proceed to apply, it searches Equifax mate - kinda misleading to say the least because they are encouraging you to apply using data from the smallest CRA then searching a totally different one....2010 - year of the troll

Never-In-Doubt: Oh I know why the discrepancy is there mate, I was just using my experience as another example as to why the Pre-App checker is not to be trusted wholly
ElkyElky Fair enough mate, yeah best get rid of the catalogues, you've got other credit accounts now and you're right, all overpriced tat. Not worth having the temptation. Well, at least you can look forward to a Barclaycard when you Graduate!
... Now, where's that pesky postman with my Barclaycard ...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Just paid off my catalogue a few minutes ago. I'm dreading phoning them because they'll try sell me !!!!!!, as they ALWAYS do when I call.
Sygma's cards are actually quite good. They don't specifically ask for your income on the application page. They just have a drop down box, asking you to select your income range.. £0 - £9000 ... £10,000 - £15,000 etc.
lol They could be giving me credit limits that equals more than my annual income and won't even know it.We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Guys :hello:
I haven't posted on here in a looooooong time, but I just wanted to give you an example of how there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In June 2008 I got a Vanquis card to start rebuilding my credit history. Was given a £250 limit. This week, I have been upgraded to a Vanquis Gold with a £1500 limit!!!! For info, I have never carried over a balance on the Vanquis card (the high apr puts me off lol), so have always paid it off in full. The only downside is the blue Vanquis card never had Vanquis written on it, but the gold card does :rotfl:
NID - Just seeing you has given me the kick up the bum to sort out my Egg issue. I still have the paperwork in my kitchen - will do my best to go through it this weekend
Oh, and also I now have £2000 limit with Next, that started off with £450 I think - again only been open a bit over 12 months.
This is all with 2 defaults, latest 2007 - so keep persevering guys and keep your records squaky clean from hereon in

Great news Sammy Girl and I am progressing slightly behind you; got a Vanquis card in Feb, having been turned down by Virgin and Tesco. Started at £250 and am now up to £1250 so hoping for Gold next. Like you I pay off in full each month. This is with 3 satisfied CCJ's, latest early 2007 so am slowly but surely climbing back.Magiciansgirl0

Hey Sam, long time no see, hows life?Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0

ElkyElky - big problem with Sygma applications page - it doesn't allow you to enter a separate flat and house number.
As I live at Flat X, X Something Road I need to enter both - but it doesn't allow me - and if I were to enter my house number but no flat number they would bring up a blank credit file - no electoral role or anything - Equifax confirmed this.
Hmm never mind I have enough accounts anyway
Sammy_Girl - well done for the limit increase and upgrade to gold - Don't use it to spread payments though as my OH did when he was upgraded to gold and is now paying £150 a month back of a £1,200 balance on his Vanquis card - about half of that is interest! Yes, around £70 a month on a £1,200 balance. It's disgraceful.
Maybe you could try for Cap 1 Classic or Aqua?
I should (fingers crossed!!) get my first Vanquis limit increase on Monday - I better do anyway or I'll consider closing the darn thingCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

I live in a flat and whenever I apply for any products, I enter my details as:
Building number\flat number. Example: 34\2 High Street. That works for me and everything displays as normal on my credit file. Or sometimes I put 'Flat xx' on address line 1, and line 2 as 34 High Street. We’ve had to remove your signature. I just got an email from Kays saying they don't want to loose me as a customer and they've given me a 10% discount code to stay. Even with 10%, I can still buy the same products elsewhere much much cheaper. We’ve had to remove your signature. Hey Sam, long time no see, hows life?
Hey Mr P:hello:. Ahh, you're making me all nostalgic now! I'm good thanks. Still trying to climb up that SP ladder lol. Hope things are good with you?Sammy_Girl - well done for the limit increase and upgrade to gold - Don't use it to spread payments though as my OH did when he was upgraded to gold and is now paying £150 a month back of a £1,200 balance on his Vanquis card - about half of that is interest! Thanks love. Actually I've already got a Cap1. Got it at the same time as vanquis and I think that limit is £1600 - tho I haven't used it in a few months. I should do really otherwise they may close it and stop giving me nice green zeros
Good luck for your CL limit. I think I got my first increase from £250 to £500 after 6 months. It is a nice feeling to know that they trust you - but yes I agree - def no big payments going on there - apr is scandalous
Hope you are all having a good Friday. 45 min to home time0
