I apply for a New Look store card however they said it was refer. They check Experian and my credit file is fine no adverse.
They said that it could be refer because they need more information but I am on the ER so what information could they want.
I call them and they did not know why it was refer and I will write in 3 weeks.
I ask the lady if its refer does it mean that I have been turned down and she said that it may go through because it does not say refer no.
New Look only lets you apply in person so it was embrassing when she told me in front of everyone that I was refer.
The lady told me that they do high credit scoring but the credit limit is only 300 pounds and I have higher limits than that.
I was only going to use every now and then but pay in full.0 -

I got to the final stage of applying for a HSBC student account and credit card yesterday, but closed the application as I remembered I have too many searches. I've stocked up on mints to try keep my applying cravings at bay. We’ve had to remove your signature. Don't worry, could be anything such as a notice of correction, you applied outwith a working day (if you applied today for instance) or something little like available credit....
I know its embarassing but to be fair, try not to apply for the cards in store... they are a nightmare (at least debenhams has a cust services lounge usually)
It may pass on Monday, hold fire til middle of next week and ring again.2010 - year of the troll

When you close your subprime cards, wait until it's marked as 'settled' before applying for another mainstream. That's what I'm going to try and do.
Could mean a bigger limit when I eventually apply, and hopefully some searches will drop off in the meantime. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I will stick to applying on the internet or phone and I did apply today so your right it could go through on Monday.
I am going to wait for the letter and see what they say.0
