Some weeks ago, I sent Vanquis a letter asking for my interest rates to be reduced.

Today I had a message on my answering machine from Vanquis asking me to call them back. So I called them back and they said "We have noted that you have been an excellent customer however we are unable to lower your interest rates".

Lovely. I will be cancelling my account at the end of this month.

Get it gone! I think once closed if you really wanted to you could apply again, directly for the gold card and i think its at like 19.9 or something?

If declined Appeal using previous account details. ;)

You should just make sure you manage your account correctly and your BS will increase....

Ok thanks. I just wasn't sure if it was as simple as that or not :T

I got my Halifax Reward Current Account coming up to 4 months ago - Halifax gave me an Interest Free £250 Overdraft for 4 months - to cover the switching service as the Salary was last to transfer over.

Everything went smoothly, then last week I received a letter saying

"We note your Interest Free Overdraft is coming to an end on 23rd August. To replace it, we will give you the £1000 overdraft you asked for" Followed by the charging structure.

I never requested any overdraft - but its good for emergencies :)

I was quite surprised having 4 defaults and 2 CCJ's on my file - but they should all disappear by 2011.

Have been in agony with my back again. This time I have made an appointment to see my doctor on Monday. The last time my back was this bad the pharmacist seemed to think it may be sciatica.

On a side note, I had to pay near £800 to fix my car a few weeks back and had no other choice but to slap it on the Vanquis card just as they raise the APR to 41%!

Hi, Guys just applied for the halifax reward account and got the message 'the account has now been opened for you and the sort code is ** ** **
and the account no is ******** ' . However it did not ask me to fund it with the usal £100. Can it be that they have opened a cash card account and not the reward account ? or if I would have been declined for that then it would have told me straight away about that ?

Also I forgot to note my account no and sort code down in the excitement, and the customer services refused to give it to me saying they cant yet see it in their systems, will the branch give it to me tommorow if i carry two forms of id with me ?

Any suggestions would be great !! thanks in advance

Don't they always do this, log in tomorrow and you'll see it will have application decision link next to it. They can't give decisions (automated) at this time of day! But halifax always do this - they give the account number etc - if anything log in and go to add/remove accounts and see if it shows there.

Either way, give it a day or two and it will appear on the homepage and have a decision there. You wouldn't be accepted at this time of day.
