Sub Prime Credit Thread Part III

Opened an Egg savings accout today and got an email this evening to say that it's all up and running, but the problem is I couldn't help but apply for the Egg Credit Card too which I think was a mistake as they will decline me and have another wasted search!
I got the "we'll email you with a decision" which always means no!
Oh well!

Hiya, not wanting to start arguing but how can you have this opinion but feel that defaults should remain for longer than 3yrs? Its the same thing, you made searches and they remain to stop you appearing desperate, which you could be in all honesty, similarly with a default it remains to show you used to be bad with money.

I'd have thought you'd be more prone to see searches remain for 6yrs, like defaults...... after all, we're to blame not the lender/cra...?

I do agree though, 3 months would be great but in fairness lenders have recognised this and most only look back 6mths, i.e. they are aware of stoozing and competition so they allow that few more searches nowadays than before.......

Have you heard from Ulster about loan yet - we want to know if Mr P is wealthy again..... :beer:

I only applied for the Personal Access account. No credit search - just an ID check

Just wanted to mention that I have just been accepted for the new Abbey account was given the debit card and overdraft but rejected for the cc. I am appealing it at the moment as if that is the case it should say subject to status next to the comment re being automatically accepted for card and will let you know the details about this when I receive a letter from them

Phoned my direct debit companies and gave them my new bank details and just transferred the bulk of my previous balance to my new account. Nearly there!
