Sub Prime Credit Thread Part III

Couple of questions if that is okay. Have received my credit report and am trying to clear it up as want to apply for a mortgage.

My current score is 597, have no late payments in the last year or overdue accounts I have two defaults one which is showing as outstanding should I pay this off.

I have a credit card with Vanquis and Capital One and have always paid on time but not great in keeping in on the balance so aiming to sort that out from this month, I also recently applied to Barclays Initial but have heard nothing and they have not even searched my credit report yet is this normal.

Must say have been reading lots of posts on here for a while and they are very informative so thanks very much.

How is this, recieved my Barclaycard Initial on Monday, called to ask when I would get the pin number to be told the account was closed due to them changing their lending criterier must be something of a record to have an account for less then 48 hours.

I would ask for more information on why this happened, perhaps put in a SAR to Barclays and/or National Hunter, as their seems to something odd going on here.

How long does it take Barclays initial to get back to you - applied last week and they have still not done a credit check. Anybody else had this problem is it likely that I am just going to get a flat no.

Hey guys

Not posted on here for ages. Thought I would give me credit file a bit of time to repair!!! I applied to Vanquis and recently got a letter asking for identification. Is this just standard?

It sounds like they couldn't verify you electronically via the Electoral Roll and such like. I would take it as good news.
