There was an overcharge and then a failure by Tesco to stick to there T&C so she is still entitled to DTD even though she does not have the duvet.
If ever you are refused a DTD ask at the desk to use their phone to speak to customer services.

I very much doubt by the sound of things in this case that they would have said yes to this!
  • im going to phone customer services

The item was purchased at the till so from there the duvet belongs to the customer so DTD applies from this point, regardless of what CS did the customer had been overcharged.
If CS decide not to follow Tesco policy then the customer can still contact Dundee and get the DTD issued, then Dundee will contact store and tell them they were wrong to do what they did.

Yes. But they took away the duvet she had paid for so I can't see them letting her use their phone as you suggest to ring customer services can you?

Did they just refund you for the duvet?
  • If they refuse to let you use the phone just get your mobile out and ask them for the number.

Surely you had the orinal receipt to prove purchase and then a refund receipt if they refunded and took it off you?

A lot of mobile charge to use 0800 numbers
