visited two different tesco stores today, the minstrels/moments etc deal was working fine in both

Working fine 2 for £2 applied or working fine not 2 for £2, therefore DTD given?
Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
  • I was wondering the same!
If I had a pound for every pound I'd lost, I'd be confused

  • Minstrels/M&Ms (170gms) priced at £2.01 per bag yet 2 for £2.00, went to charge me £4.00 but silly me said it was 2 for £2.00. He had rung the price through and printed off the receipt but I hadn't handed over the cash, so I didn't get dtd......

New to this sort of thing.

  • Not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but here goes. I recently found £40 on the floor in one of the aisles in Tesco. I handed it in to customer services who just took the money and put it in the till. I carried on shopping but was feeling slightly aggrieved that nobody had taken my details or even said thankyou. i went back to them after about 10 minutes to ask them to take my details down in case the money was not claimed. I was made to feel that I was being a nuisance but eventually my details were written in a book specifically for this type of situation. (There were no other entries in it) I was then told that if the money is not claimed after 28 days it is given to charity. I know this is going to sound selfish but while I am more than happy for the person that lost the money to get it back, I do not agree with it being given to charity by Tesco if it is not claimed. Surely it should be offered to me and I could give it to charity if I so wished. I checked this with Tescos helpline and was told that yes, that was their policy except it was 6 months not 28 days. It has left me feeling that it doesn't pay to be honest.

I'm not sure if DTD works in the express shops. I haven't seen any signs in any of my local ones about it.
Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Im sorry to criticize but I feel this was rather silly, if it was in a wallet then ok, there maybe cards ect in there aswell with someway to trace the person who owned the wallet.
I recently found a wallet it tescos carpark, It only had 10quid but also loads of cards, so I handed it into the police station, about 4 weeks later I got sent a letter from them saying thankyou (from the police), However I digress.

No one is going to go to customer servive and ask has any cash been found, and even if they did how could they prove it was theres?
I expect 40quid was gona go to there christmas fund, and they got anoyed with you because then they couldnt have it as you made them fill out the form.. imo.

Times are hard for many people, and you basicly just gave a complete stranger 40quid of your money!!
You found it so it was yours.
Never ever had over cash you have found, 9 times out of 10 whoevers it was wont get it.

If you find a wallet, take it to the police station, do not had it over to the cashier/barman/waitress ect, the chances are they will take any cash out ect and throw the rest away.

I dont mean to sound like no one out there is ohnest, but temptation is sometimes hard to resist for even the best of people.

i.e. wallet - take to police stating.
    loose cash - keep it
P.S. if you realy feel the need to hand the cash to someone, than again I say police station as i think after so many months of no one claiming it will be yours, but I'm not 100% on that.

I found £10 on the airport duty free floor recently. Put it towards a watch I liked :-)
I found a gold ring last year and took it to the Police Station.
I agree - cash you keep unless it's obvious who dropped it.
