I handed it in to customer services who just took the money and put it in the till. I carried on shopping but was feeling slightly aggrieved that nobody had taken my details or even said thankyou. i went back to them after about 10 minutes to ask them to take my details down in case the money was not claimed. I was made to feel that I was being a nuisance but eventually my details were written in a book specifically for this type of situation. (There were no other entries in it) I was then told that if the money is not claimed after 28 days it is given to charity. I know this is going to sound selfish but while I am more than happy for the person that lost the money to get it back, I do not agree with it being given to charity by Tesco if it is not claimed. Surely it should be offered to me and I could give it to charity if I so wished. I checked this with Tescos helpline and was told that yes, that was their policy except it was 6 months not 28 days. It has left me feeling that it doesn't pay to be honest.
I would get a friend/family member to go in and ask if it was handed in, they could claim it was theirs. Worth a go

What do you mean she wasn't parting with the one you paid for? So she stole your duvet0 -
Phone Tesco customer services you will be able to explain everything to them and they will instruct the store to issue DTD, or send you a gift card.0

she took it back and thre it down behind the desk lol0

There was an overcharge and then a failure by Tesco to stick to there T&C so she is still entitled to DTD even though she does not have the duvet.
If ever you are refused a DTD ask at the desk to use their phone to speak to customer services.0 -

But you had paid for it - it belonged to you if she refused to give it back then thats theft.0
