Just bought an item from tesco's that was reduced from £50 to £33.

    Got charged £80

The wouldn't give me DTD and offered a refund. I've since rang head office and they have confirmed i should be entitled to DTD.

How much should i get back for when i return later?

    Thanks.

You should not have to go back to the store.I had this happen to me(not for such a large amount though) and tesco asked for the name of the store and my receipt number and they sent me a gift card in the post.

They are not having any of it, i've wasted an hour of my life on the phone to head office - who at first comfired i was entitled to DTD.

They then spoke to the nice lady (yeah right) at CS in store who confirmed the SEL was related to a different product as the barcode was different. How am i meant to know this?

Anyways it was for a Brabantia bin and apparently the SEL was for a tesco own brand bin, but they both said Soft 1 Touch Bin.

    :(
  • L'Oreal fake tan wipes (2pk) was charged £3 instead of the reduced price (75p) so £4.50 back for me :) Wished I'd grabbed a couple now! This was in the Stevenage town centre Tesco & CS removed the SEL but hopefully it'll be available in other stores!

I'd still pursue this with quiet, courteous absolute immovability.
You need to emphasise your last clause and not move from this.
Term such practice as shady 'getting out from under', be insistent on going a level higher each time and express regret that it should have come to this.

My understanding from when I was there was if the SEL was for a different product then DTD (or R&R when I was there) did NOT apply as it is not for the item you bought. It does get confusing if the description is similar. Obviously if you but a brabantia bin and the SEL says Tesco there is nothing wrong with that.

If both bins are Soft 1 touch bins then the best you can hope for is for them to sell you the brabantia bin at the tesco bin price.

    Sorry

Bic 4 pack of highlighter pens SEL £1.12 charged £3.30 DTD £4.36 - wish I'd bought more, lol.
