Well I got my DtD. So one Karcher pressure washer for -£20.
£220 DTD back on £200 spend, CS confirmed there are no exclusions to the DtD promise. Only time they won't up hold it is when they have hard evidence of suspected constant abuse. Where they havea rogues gallery.
I wonder if I was smiling when they took my piclol

I love reading this thread. I always forget to check receipts and then realise afterwards that they have overcharged me and think it's a waste going back especially for the odd quid, but then when you add it up over the year, plus the double the difference bit, it's probably a good wedge!
i must take more care, even though we really shouldn't have to. I hate tesco stores. their staff really must go through ignorant school because to have such a concentration of ignorant unhelpful people working for one establishment really isn't just an unlucky coincidence!:xmastree:0 -

This really makes me mad!!!! Abuse, is it? They are the ones OVERCHARGING US!!!!!!!!! It's not abuse to legitimately point out an overcharge. It is, however, an issue for Trading Standards that they constantly overcharge customers. They don't want to give DTD? Then get the SELs right! It isn't rocket science!!!!!!! In the meantime, we will carry on getting DTD wherever we have been overcharged (i.e. ripped off).
...and breathe.

I agree.
In the days when RnR was the policy, I used to be at CS most weeks with something else they'd overcharged me on.
I remember one time I was getting a refund on a DVD boxset and was told I couldn't have it as "I'd put the price sticker on" the set
a) it was wedged on and inside a DVD case
b) there were others on the shelf with identical stickers
She didn't like it when I told her this, refused to give me the RnR as I was always getting them. I asked for her phone so I could ring Head Office who could clarify the position. I was on the phone on hold, and getting more abuse and defamitory comments from CS whilst the manager was brought in to resolve, I repeated that I wouldn't be at CS so much getting refunds if they actually got their pricing right and made me not have to spend 5 minutes after checkouts looking through my receipt.
At which point another customer queuing said "Yeah, I'm always finding things like that when I can be bothered to look." I explained RnR policy to that customer. CS even grumpier and manager told me that "on this occasion..." I told them I'd be back next time I was overcharged. About 3 days later in fact :rotfl:Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

It really is so good to hear some success stories.
I just purchased 2 large Subs from my local Tesco which were displayed with large Half price - 50p only signs.
They went through till at £1.00 so I went to CS who not only checked the signs, but then insisted on getting somone from Bakery to confirm that 50p was in fact correct.
Condescending girl on CS said on this occasion they would refund the full amount - OH mentioned double the difference and she just scowled.
Really not worth it for 50p I guess.0 -

But would you have bought them if those signs weren't there?
So you bought 2 items you were expecting to pay £1 for. You paid £2 for them. You should have got £2 back. Yes, grumpy CS can be a pain, and I agree you have to weigh up the queue size and time spent getting DtD, but remember it was the special offer that encouraged you to buy in the first place!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?
