Thank you Diva. :A
I would have defended anyone on that thread last night from those disgraceful comments but the fact that they were directed against my sister and a friend unfortunately made me lose my cool.
My mood hasn't been helped by work this morning where i am still vchasing thousands of pounds of unpaid bills to our company and 2 hours on the phone trying to sort out Virgin Media's incmpetance.
Headache here to stay I fear.0 -

tired mum and csarina I love reading your posts and hope neither of you feel you have to leave because of a difference of opinion.. Life would be very dull if we all agreed with each other all of the time.
Anyway, the reason for posting yet again today is to say the QVC have silicon baking things as their TSV so rather cheap.. Link HERE if anyone is interested. I have ordered some as I love the ones I have and these have a rigid edge so even better. (and no, I am not on commission!)
Diva.xTo be frugal, you need to spend money wisely, simply spending less is not enough. If you can't handle me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best...Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I will try again tomorrow.0 -
whats happening on here now? I hope people don`t stop posting on here just because of a silly difference of opinion:rolleyes:, surely people are allowed their own views?
i feel for Csarina as she must be going through the mill wondering if her family are ok.........I also can see Tired Mums point of view that as adults we make our own decisions about the risks we take....it is not down to the airline companies to stop flights straight away....given the situation out there and the info already given to people about non essential travel only,it is then up to the individual whether they go or not.
As a nurse who has worked in infectious diseases I would not take my family there and put them at risk....BUT that is not me saying Csarinas family were in the wrong...they made their own independant decision and I hope they come home safe0 -
Csarina, Tired Mum did not say anything offensive.
Sometimes bad things happen and they are no-one's fault. We can all imagine how worrying the situation must be for you, let's hope it is resolved as soon as poss.
Well, on to OS matters. I feel like I haven't done much today but actually I've sorted through mine and dd's clothes and put a load of stuff in a charity bag and found another load of stuff to iron. I've done all the ironing:j, I've trimmed my little flower border in the front garden, I've eaten leftovers for lunch and I've hoovered everywhere -well not upstairs obviously that would be asking too much:rolleyes::D0 -
Afternoon all.
Happy Birthday Moggins
A Wolfy ((((HUG)))) for Penny Penguin. For what it's worth, I think you and Pink-winged do a great job.
((((HUG)))) also for Csarina and to Nic.
I probably won't get online again after today til next Tuesday - Mr LW has a couple of days off for us to celebrate Beltane in style. Actually, I'm a bit annoyed; there was supposed to be an organised Beltane do on Saturday, but some busy-body has objected, and the owners of the venue took fright and cancelled the booking. :mad:This despite the fact that previous celebrations have been held there with absolutely no problems whatsoever. I'm just glad I found out before shopping for ingredients for my food contribution.
We have to take the car to Northampton for its pre-holiday check tomorrow, so I'll take the opportunity to visit Sainsbugs. I can no longer go to the MK one, as they've moved, and now have an underground car park, which, as I am severely claustrophobic, I cannot cope with. No good me getting out of the car while Mr LW parks, either, as I need help getting into my wheelchair.I shall be stocking up with pickled shallots, as I can't get them at a sensible price anywhere else.
I've been trying to think of a "new" cake to make, for a change, so my thanks to MSDiva for posting her Aunty Sally's apple cake recipe - I think I might do that one.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I really like this thread!
Been following for a few days like dipping in and out to see what people are up to.... Just a nosy cow at heart I think!!
Am thinking hard about reigning things in financially for my little lot at the moment. I'm seperated from my DS's (x2) father and he's decided he's dropping the maintenance as he feels it's too much!! With one still in nappies i feel this is a little unfair but that's fine let him buy them in car dvd systems and toys they're only allowed to play with four days a month. I will teach them to cook and behave and grow up nicely and hopefully understand the value of money.... Plus they can have my time and all I will ask for them in return is good manners and the odd pudgy smile ;-)
oooooh I'm learning!
All is not lost tho, I have a lovely bf who himself has 2 lovely children so weekends and holidays here are very hectic!!! Happy Times x Hello to all!#118 DFW Debt freely Christmas 2012 Challenge0 -
Hi there folks
Well another eventful day at work. Hating it more each day. Somehowbeing able to say it on here makes it feel better in the evenings. My bos has now taken to snidy comments on things that are completely untrue but I can now breathe a sigh of relief she is going on maternity leave in October although I do hope to et another job by then!!!
Big hugs to all that need them and Csarina I hope the familyis ok. Mexico is a country I have visited and its such a shame they have to see it in such circumstances unable to enjoy. I tink insurance companies shoule be ble to offer people the chance of a refund when these things start to kick off as like you say they are now stuck out there. Hope they get home soon.
Hope you all have better weather than me its awful here at the min feels like November and I need to get out in the garden. Fingers crossed for a break in the weather tomorrow or my seedlings will be taking over their pots.Although I get lonely  as a single mother there are always two smiling angels ready to give me the biggest hug in the world. Love you babies :grouphug:
Fear is a disease....Hope is it's only cure!0 -
Hello chums ,Thanks for that recipe Diva it looks to easy to be true and I'm going to have a go at it.There used to be a cafe in West malling that did a delicious apple cake with a brown crispy demerrara topping so I may sprinnkle some brown sugar over the top half an hour before its cooked .The only problem I have is that I have a fan assisted oven and I can never seem to get the timings right. If I turn it up to 180 degrees everything burns so I have to cook at about 130 degrees. Cooul you cook this in the remoska do you think ?
I had a bit of luck I had to take my prescription to the Dr.s for a reapet and on the way there I found 50p that someone had dropped, and on the way back someone had discarded their Tesco trolley by the car park and hadn't bothered to get their £1.00 back so after buying my t.v. mag I am £1.10p up on the day.
I am often surprised at how children just throw pennies away when they come out of the sweetshop locally I always pick them up and put them in my penny jar along with 5p pieces as well.Soon mounts up and it goes into the holiday fund for my grandchildrens ice creams.
5p to me is still a shilling:rotfl::rotfl:sign of getting old I suppose0 -
A slight shift from the normal piccys I [STRIKE]get away with thanks to pink and penny[/STRIKE] post for you lubbly ladies (well mostly lovely;)). You know what - I believe in free speech and being able to express an opinion that is not necessarily going along with the norm - blimey I do it all the time - what I dont agree with is nasty personal attacks to 2 people who are the heart and soul of OS and deserve all the bear hugs they get. :A:A
So today I went shopping for a mates birthday gift and bought myself a potato ricer which I am very excited about because James Martin uses one on Sat kitchen and therefore I feel more in touch with him:D (if only:D) So tonight I feel I will be making mash and lots of it.
:hello: everyone else0
