    Morning all

Happy birthday to all those who are celebrating today and ((((((hugs)))))) to all who need them

Hope you are well. Have got off to a bit of a slow start this morning...........actually not sure I have got started at all! Lol!! Got a steroid injection in my hip yesterday so shuffling around like something not wise at the minute!

Really need to get some more washing done but Im seriously struggling with drying. We dont have an outside dryer cause out garden is such a state so we use inside airers but everything seems to take forever to dry.

Need so go get my sister something else for her birthday which is tomorrow and thank goodness that is the end of our 6 close family members birthdays within 8 days! Might also look and see if I can grab something nice for dinner, am seriously lacking inspiration at the moment when it comes to dinner.

Also planning on doing some baking at some point but again lacking inspiration as to what. I am somewhat limited in what I can actually bake as Im not really all that great in the kitchen, so far all I have successfully been able to make are fairy cakes, twinks hobnobs and coconut macaroons (though I had to break off the burnt bits :rotfl:) so all suggestions for this department are greatly welcomed!!

Hope you all have a good day

    Afternoon OS chums! hi.gif
    hgballoons.gifMoggins honey xx
Sybil - I joined the grocery challenge last month and went way over budget but I was just guessing at how much we spent and now I know, I can adjust and try and perhaps just knock a little off.
Chrisca50 - keeping my fingers and toes crossed that your OH keeps his job. I tried crossing my eyes but I just got a headache.. rotfl.gif
Katie - I think you are very brave showing us all but all I noticed was a pair of beautiful big eyes and I am betting once that scar fades even more, no one is going to pay any attention to it.
Pen-Pen and Pink - Just caught up with what happened last night and wanted to send you *hugs*
Haribo - Just wanted to say what a wonderful sister you are and I wish mine was more like you.
Sistercas - Woohooo, thank you honey, all Wallace and Gromit tokens are gratefully received!
Pink - Thank you so much for letting us know halight had logged in. I have been mentioning him every day cos it's so unlike him not to post, and I know he wasn't feeling well.
Nic1 - Hope the funeral goes as well as it can
csarina - Big hugs hon, you must be worried sick, but the chances are they will be fine, I will keep my fingers crossed for them

I had a lovely suprise this morning - Tristan sent me a box of gifts from the USA! Our mutual friend posted it for him but he sent some american pepper spice, some little trinkets with 'Diva' on, 5 bags of beef jerky (now THAT will be interesting :rotfl:), two huge bags of flaming hot 'Cheetos', some popcorn flavourings, (OMG I just counted - 10 different ones!! Not sure I eat that much popcorn.gif) plus a couple of Montana T-shirts just for my OH! I love pressies! Sadly he was a bit down the last time I spoke to him, wasn't feeling at all well.

Ok.. the weather is gorgeous again so the washing is already on the line and the fatcat is basking in the sunshine on the window sill and my cousin just rang and I haven't spoken to her in months. She wanted some advice initially but we talked for half an hour which was lovely. All in all, a good start to the day!

My OH went to Lidls last night and came home very proud of himself as he spent about £20 and has lots of meal ideas in there including frikadillen. He also bought more par baked rolls, not very OS but have to admit there is something about a hot crusty rolls covered in melting butter..

The end of the month for writing my reviews is coming up so will be typing like a dervish the next few days, and I really need to decide what to do with the money that was in last years ISA.. Also still haven't sorted out what car to have - life got on top of us time-wise but we do have one more car to try before we make a decision.

I hope you all have a great day, warm gentle grouphug.giffor anyone who wants or needs one.

Csarina I hope that DD and family will be ok but she and her partner are adults and have chosen to go to Mexico despite all the warnings and info it is not up to the airline or the Goverment to forbid travel to any person it is up to them to decide what they choose to do .
I am not having a go but i think that they made their choice and no one forced them to go or to stay at home but as a mum i do understand where you are coming from . I hope they have a lovely time and come back ok unfortunatly its not just Mexico it seems to be travelling around the world and you may come into contact with someone in the supermarket who has been in contact with someone who has been to US/mexico/scotland and unknowingly has the virus

There were no warnings up about travel to Mexico, the tour operators said it was ok to go.....what would you have done lost over £1000 each???? If they had not gone.....'because they might get ill,' the insurance would not have paid out, I think between a rock and a hard place describes the situation they were in. I do not find your remarks at all helpful.

I know I always trot this recipe out, but people have tried it and agreed it tastes lovely and is really easy, so once again - Aunt Sallys Apple Cake. If I have done it correctly then it should link you through to the recipe. rotfl.gif

Afternoon everyone just a quick catch up cos I've been out all morning and now't has been done around the house.Took ys to the park to feed the ducks after dropping the others at school. After a quick play on the swings we had to leave as the skies looked ominous so we took a quick walk along the canal into town and the canal was fully of ducklings and they were just at that lovely fluffy stage it was oh so sweet.Nipped to Asda after meeting OH for his break.Got some of the chickens @ 2 for £6 (Thanks N9eav).So the chickens are in the oven cooking.I will chop them up later and freeze them as they are so handy to have bagged up for salads etc.I'll make some chicken and veg soup with the carcasses.Yoghurt needs tipping out and draining. One load of washing is out on the line and another will be going out in a minute as now I am home the flaming day has cheered up:mad:

MSD-You should be on commission for that recipe as its getting nearly as famous as Twinks hobnobs.I'm dead jealous of the parcel.I love receiving unexpected parcels as they are so well unexpected:rotfl:Hope Tristan feels better today and he gets in contact. As for the frikadellen my lot love them with chips and veg

Pen Pen-I'm sorry you are feeling down today and hope that if you have sunshine where you are it manages to lighten your mood a little

Katie-Its awful what happened to you but that scar is healing beautifully and will become just a thin white line in no time and nobody will notice it

Pen - Pin-Hope today is a good one for you healthwise

Csarina-Hope you manage to get your family home soon.My ED was on holiday last year in Cuba when the Hurricane struck and I was frantic for three days and when she returned home she couldnt understand the fuss as where they were it wasnt bad and in her words it was just a strong wind!

I was not meaning to upset you i was just pointing out fact this has been all over the press and media for over a week now and yes if i was that concerned i would have lost the money which i was quite happy to do when i cancelled our holiday to the DRepublic as i had just lost my job and was concerned for my OH job. My youngest daughter sits behind a child who came back from Mexico last week and his nan lives across the road to us should i not let her be near him:confused:
Unfortunatly the press blow things out of proportion I am sorry you have taken this the wrong way but i was only pointing out the facts as i saw them.
I will also say that most of the countries over that side of the carribean are third world countries and to go to any 1 of them leaves you open to many diseases including Polio and malaria I choose to go and i choose to take the risks involved and that is what it is all about personal choice I have found all these countries to be welcoming friendly and above all I have never found its all about the money they have very little but what they do have they willingly share and dont moan or complain about what they dont have
If you want to reply to me please do so by PM as this is the last i will say on the matter on this board except to say I am sure your family will have a great time and come home well

A beautiful sunny day here. Our bags are packed and we're off to the hospital in a few minutes. I think we'll probably be back again later tonight as DS2 has a slight cold we have to see what the anesthetist says. I really want this over and done with. No OS has been done today. Hugs to all that need them.

I have just heard from my daughter, they have just got up to the news that they are in essence marooned in Mexico, they have been told nothing by their tour reps and have no idea what is going on.

I will not be posting on this subject, or any other I find tired mums remarks extremely offensive. OK she cancelled a holiday when she was made redundant, that is covered by insurance this issue is not.....
