Oooh - NICE view FF - thanks for posting that! Coming back from holiday last year we left Skye via the little ferry - which was absolutely lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed!
Well done on making lunches Mineallmine and LT :T
Quidco money came in today and has been safely deposited into the "Make up a month" account. We know have enough for the Mortgage, Council tax and Service charge for one month in there, plus one of the insurances. Will keep adding to it as and when I can though. I need to give MrEH a mortgage statement so he can ring and pay an extra £300 to go out with the April payment - that's the two months of council tax and water rates that we save at this time of year. Actually, I'm half tempted to go to the NR branch on Saturday morning and just pay it in from there.....Hmmmmm.
Oh - much excitment - I have a new savings account! This one will have a regular £20 a month paid across into it from my account, and will pay towards my speedway season ticket for next year if I decide to get one. I'm also using it to save for the eventual purchase of an iPhone as having had the iPod Touch for a while I now know I definitely want an iPhone!Current price for the 16gb 3GS from Tesco is £440 so that gives me something to aim for......fingers crossed it will come down a bit in price before I'm ready to buy too!
Spent £6 in tesco the other night taking shameless advantage of the shampoo glitch. Came away with 4 x bottles of John Frieda conditioner, 2 x bottles of JF shampoo, 2 x bottles of Charles Worthington conditioner and 1 x bottle of CW shampoo which will keep me going for ages. Too good a deal to miss out on!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Rats, another deal I should have looked at. I have cheap shampoo at the moment, and my hair is now frizzing like nobody's business. Luckily, I have some hair serum left over from when I used it regularly - otherwise, I'd look like I'd been electrocuted or something  like that, actually :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well have had packed lunch 2/4 days so far. Not bad. I had vegetable samosas one day and they were gorgeous!!! Couldn't have any meetings for the rest of the day but hey-ho! I'm even packing breakfast if I don't get time to eat it at home. My friend always has snacks when we're out for the day, I've finally realised how much dosh it saves.
Like the idea of a dedicated savings like that EH, makes it all the more special when we get those things. I'm doing the save £365 in 365 days thing. I haven't decided yet what it will be spent on, either a PC or something, I like the idea of GHDs...Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

Well done on the lunches Mineallmine - that's excellent. It must be said working out in the sticks with no decent shops in walking distance does help focus the mind on making sure you have food with you!
Found £10 in my purse that I didn't realise I had earlier on. I think I must have mentally committed it to a purchase I made at the market last week, which OH then paid for, but in my head it had already gone, if that makes sense!
I need to replace my boots - I've got Timberlands at the moment which I've had for about 3 years I reckon - I bought them on the market and paid £60 for them if I remember rightly. The stall I buy from sell off lots of seconds in good makes so I will probably head there and see what they have tomorrow. Must remember to take my cheque book though as I have no intention of using my card on a market stall!
Did the Tesco shop tonight - came in at just over £15 but that included a couple of bottles of soft drink for our drive up to Scotland in a couple of weeks, a big pack of spaghetti, a pack of pasta, and a block of unsalted butter. Got a HUUUUGE bag of carrots reduced to 50p so might make carrot cake muffins tomorrow if I can find a recipe. OH won't eat them so they'll be ALL MINE!Next week's shop should be seriously low so long as I stick to my list.
Have a good weekend everyone!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Ooh, a market stall that sells good brands, lovely!
Tesco - I arranged for a clubcard plus, for the double points, but I can't seem to use it for online shopping, so the money is building up in the account, weirdly - I have over £60 in there now, it doesn't really work so I'm going to have to go back to an ordinary clubcard - even they get double points at the mo tho.
I like finding money! I found 2p earlier today, I don't think it quite counts in the same way as £10 countsglad you found it tho, EH

Got my boots from the market this morning - £45 as they were the end of that particular line so I was pleased with that. Just need to check my bank account now to make sure there is enough in there once the cheque clears. I do like Timberland boots and the stuff that stall sells is all genuine. They're also open to a bit of haggling which is fun and will reluctantly take a cheque!
Sent the two emails I needed to get done this morning to do with sorting things out for the holiday - one to a brewery and the other to a B&B! :rotfl: Also had an email from the lady who owns the cottage we are staying in up there saying she'd just come back from a trip up (she always goes up about now to check the place over and get everything up and running) and it was lovely up there - lots of blue skies and sparkling water!
Off out again now to the charity shop - I have a bag of stuff to go to them and I need some books!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Your boots sound like a bargain and great that you have a market that sells good stuff.
Bet you can't wait for your holiday.0 -
Excellent stuff!
I've often gone round a brewery when I've been on holiday, honest! Beer in the south west of England, and distilleries in Scotland, I love it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

The market's brilliant - we get loads of stuff there at a fraction of the price it would be elsewhere which is great. As for the holiday - yep, can't wait about sums it up!Excellent stuff!

Ahhh, this is a brewery in Scotland! Isle of Skye Brewery to be exact - Angus up there is brilliant and for the past few years has met us at the Brewery shop as we pass by on the way to the ferry to let us buy some beer to take over to the Hebrides with us - the shop isn't officially open for the season until Easter but he opens it for us early! We usually end up taking some bits across for North Uist's one and only pub too...! We've done a fair few brewery trips - in fact, I've organised a fair number of them as well, leading to my oft made assertion that yes, I can indeed organise a Pee-up in a brewery....! Hoping to do St Austell in a few months time - not been there before and their beers are lovely so fingers crossed!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
