  • Hi EH, love your avatar photo too! Well done on getting the interest. I do get frustrated with stuff like this but good that you stuck to your guns, I think Tesco can afford it...:p

I increased my savings this week after lots of hesitation, but (usually) after a bit I get used to paying an increased amount. I just gotta get better at packed lunches (even if only once a week). Mmm might make this a challenge for meself. :A

Work out what you want to have for your lunch, then make sure you have all the bits ready to just put together the night before for it. Never underestimate the value of things like a cup a soup and a crusty roll, or some ryvita and some cheese with a packet of crisps. Dead simple and quick to assemble, and a bit different to the usual to eat as well perhaps. Assuming you have access to a fridge at work you might even be able to take in bits on a Monday and just leave them there for the week? If you have a microwave then pop a couple of tins of soup in your desk drawer and take in a bowl and spoon then if there is a day you have forgotten or not got around to making lunch you still have something there to fall back on. Good luck!

Well done on the savings thing, too!

Thanks EH, you're so right. If everything is there then there's no excuse. I always have tins of tuna and jars of mayo! cupasoup sounds a good idea. sadly a tiny (overused) fridge and no microwave at work. I do have a couple of thermos things that I could fill with soup. Right I've set a reminder on my phone to do sarnies once a week, will remind me to fill the thermos with hot water the night before, not essential but helps or make sure I have bread/supplies. Thanks EH!:T

PS: just remembered I really enjoy Asda's vegetable samosas! Woo-hoo, am getting excited about this...

Those are good ideas,EH - the thing I tend to do with a microwave, is that anything ordinary I heat up in it, even like baked beans, I might well chuck in some cashew nuts or something - anything to add a bit of extra protein, as I'm veggie.

I love the picture from Glenelg - being an exiled Sgiathanch I'm biased though!

This is the view from my mum's garden at home, I miss it a lot sometimes...

Ooh.... I like that. I have an elderly cousin who sends lots of photos of the loch at the end of his garden - he tends to like the "special" stuff, like when a warship is doing helicopter landing practise or something, tho, so this one is nice, thanks FF!
