In a shock annoucement Tesco has announced that their PI Department (that's Price Integrity to you peasants) will, after many years of doing frig all, finally - and in the words of Sir Alan* will, 'Get A Grip.'
A Tesco Spokesman pointed out: 'Let's face it, we nobbed up with R&R and lost all those bloody XBox consoles, DTD has been as useful as a fart in a spacesuit, so we've decided to put the right prices on both the goods and the SELs'.
When pressed for a comment Sir Terry** said 'What's a SEL?'
The Tesco Spokesman concluded: 'From this day forth every Tesco customer can be confident of shopping at Tesco and being charged the right price for their Value Meatballs and other grocery essentials.'

*Tesco would like to point out that this quote is attributable to Sir Alan Steer, friend of Cabinet Waster and General Shister Ed Balls, aka Fat Ed, aka Ed the Leech, aka Ed the Haircut.
**Tesco would like to point out that this quote is attributable to Sir Terry Wogan, friend of, umm, friend and son of Mrs Wogan.

I hope they'll be keeping the '4 x' deals because there's nothing on that list that I buy from Tesco:(0

So as I understand it, you can get 2x the face value of your deals tokens to spend in specific departments, including clothing, baby goods, wine, mobile airtime. I wonder what other departments will be included?
This is a lot better than only being able to spend the face value. I just hope they don't cut back on the 4x deals though.0 -
So that's what the price increases have been for, lol...Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Off topic, but how do you get extra clubcard accounts? I have one for me and DH, how do you get multiple accounts? Also coupon mad doesn't your supermarket mind if you don't buy the item on the coupon, ours used to let you have 10%, but even that has stopped.0

Some people seem to get better offers if they use one card for a month or two, then swap cards.
These 2 threads have some useful ideas/suggestions on them

Have a look at the following thread to get full details of the new scheme. We've spoken to Tesco's press office to confirm all the info.

Go to say that offer is pants!
The wine offer is good but its just for a limited time only and they had that offer before christmas didn't they. So hardly new.
The other departments in the double up are all departments where they are making a healthy mark up to begin with, hence why the real good value departments, i.e Games, DVD's etc, are not included.
I have £40 worth of vouchers that I will use to to order a load of wine I think. Good deal for that if you can also use a first time user code too.0 -

Have to agree with you there - and it certainly isn't enough for me to start paying extra by shopping at Tescos instead of Sainsburys.
I have to say, I did wonder if the offer would be good enough to tempt me back, but that's a complete anti-climax, and a resounding 'no'!"A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper
"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful" - William Morris
Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.0 -
Looks like it is on stuff that is often on offer to shift it anyway.
I think I'll stick with the clubcard deals.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
