Quite easy really. When the CC vouchers were available there was 500 points on mothers day flowers so hubby & I ordered some each for mums. We both have Life Insurance with Tesco (2000 points for each policy), wine (used to get a whopping 2500 points for £100 spend!!), groceries of course - you used to be able to get 1000 points on a £50 grocery delivery spend. Who else remembers the 1500 points vouchers for the £75 spend?? Those were the days.

The list is endless to be honest, You used to get the wine club vouchers and it would be 100 points for buying wine, 100 points for spanish wine so I'd buy those small 25cl bottles and use both vouchers (instore) and put them away for my friend for Xmas. Everyone used to get wine back in those days, LOL. I used to look at as £100 spend and £100 'savings club' for the holiday. If that makes sense.

But now I do not really spend anything at Tesco. I do my main monthly shop as I do not like Asda home delivery and then I go to the local Sainsbury for the odds and ends I need.

I do not think Tesco are more expensive either, you shop around the same as you do for anything. Sainsbury are more expensive than Tesco without a doubt. Asda are cheaer but there is more to buy as th store is HUGE and so I spend more money!! I got some kids knee and elbow pads in a rucksack for £1.62 in Tesco the other day, Abba Singstar was £9.96, I am not saying I never shop there but we used to get everything from Tesco like flowers, music, boks, etc.. but we don't now the vouchers have stopped.

With CC we have been to Florida, DLP (but I bought £320 of those on eBay) with Cresta, Butlins twice (and going again this year) and lots of days out/restaurants. As I say, we used to use Tesco for anything and everything as the vouchers were a bonus to use as a kind of 'savings scheme' for us.

Just about anything would be 'massive' compared to the pathetic mocs & tillspits Tesco offers these days instead of cc points
eg
25p off a £3 magazine I've never heard of,
50p off nappies (youngest kid is 19),
15p off wys £2 on garlic/onions (don't know that many vampires)

When Tesco send out those money off vouchers with the CC vouchers, I swear they try to send me the most irrelevant offers, similar to the previous poster. I virtually never use them; although it has been said on here you don't have to use them against that specific item they never accept that.

No, you do have to spend Tesco offer vouchers on the right item. That includes money-offs they send with your cc vouchers and any coupons from the Tesco magazine or instore that have a Tesco logo on them. The tills are usually set to refuse those coupons unless you buy the item.

What you don't have to use for the right item is other Non-store specific (NSS) money-off coupons. This means ones without any Tesco logo or any mention of only being used in another store only (e.g. yesterday's Telegraph had a nice £1.95 coupon in it so I bought a dozen copies = £1.05 profit x 12).

Simple when you know you are not looking for Tesco coupons in order to get your shopping for almost free like I do. It doesn't long for me to source and sort out my coupons each week, so you don't need lots of spare time. I have 4 kids and 2 part-time jobs apart from couponing (which I also see as similar to a job as the 'pay' is similar!) so I am not someone with loads of time on my hands...

Ah, cheers for that. So - as long as the coupon doesn't have a Tesco logo, even if it is for, say, colgate toothpaste, you can just deduct it from shopping, regardless of whether you buy colgate, is that right?

Tesco was always famous for having one policy, that policy was

"We have no policy"

It used to differ from manager to manager, cs to cs, store to store,

however.............of late, there appears to be some kind of almost National Policy that Tesco will take ONE of each NSS coupon if you dont buy the product, and two of each, when you do buy the product.............

this doesnt necessarily incude internet or home printed coupons........ some stores oblige, some dont.

This has been reported a number of times, but unfortunately this doesnt mean that YOUR store will abide by this.........a lot of managers refuse to "play the game"

Addendum......some stores will even take "money off a certain spend" coupons ...eg Sainsburys Spend £30 save £5...or Waitrose, and others(depends usually on which other stores are in the vicinity) .....theres no harm in trying, the worst they can do, is, refuse you..

Yep. :D:D As long as it doesn't have a rival's logo as well (and you can't just cut it off, that would be fraud and Tesco wouldn't get repaid for it).

One of each NSS (Non-store specific) coupons, as Leadhead says above, is the official Tesco policy. Not all stores follow it to the letter (some disallow any internet prints, others, disallow coupons for magazines they don't stock in their store). Try at your local and see!

Yes, I get my shopping almost free. Usually I buy about £25 worth of shopping per day and pay about 20p. I earn clubcard points on the original £25 per day spend... :D:D

I've been using Tesco for weekly shops for longer than I care to remember - but in recent months I've noticed prices going up significantly.

When Sainsbury started their half price promotion - the thread is here - I took the plunge and did a week's shop based primarily around the half price deals and buying other stuff from the basics range.

I can tell you several things:

First - my shopping bill is cheaper at Sainsbury.
Second - generally the quality of Sainsbury food is far superior to that of Tesco.
Finally - the Basic range is a lot, I mean a lot, superior to the Value range.
