Hi Poohbear
My mum always used to do stuffed breast of lamb herself when money was tight as she would use the ribs with the bits of meat on to make the breast of lamb stew so she got 2 meals instead of 1
It is a fatty cut, but if roasted long and slow a lot of it will melt away -the bonus is you can then save the fat to roast potatoes in another time, plus with the stuffed breast being rich means you don't want too much on your plate
Hi njk-welcome on board

Hi, I would like to declare at£377.24, even though I am £2.24 over budget, I am more than happy with this as we took a trip to the wholesale butcher and have loads of meat in the freezer.
Please count me in again at the same £375 for June.
Good luck to you all!0 -
Morning All,
What a rubbish month i have had. I ahve been so busy with one thing or another i have not been able to post or read the thread too often, and so unfortunatly for the first time since i started the GC i will be way over budget, i am so mad with myself cause i know i can do it
.
I will declare for may on friday (payday) but know i am going to be about £80 over, and haven't even done anything special to justify this,
Anyway here's to the beginning of a new month where i will come in under budget. Please keep up the positive posts cause they really do bump me up a bit
Thanks

Hi I would love to join in. I am 22 years old and moved in with my boyfriend in April 2008 and we seem to spent half our money on food! We are both foodies so the shopping bill in normally quite high!
So please count me in for £250 for JUNE.
I am due to go to Mr T's (armed with plenty of moc's!) on Monday so I will be starting from the 1st June!0 -

Hi all, done awful this month declaring at £310.17 should be doing the last shop of the month today but the empty purse says there will be no shopping coming into this sty! Please can you put me down for £200 in June money is getting tighter and tighter the only thing I can cut back on is food, hopefully the allotment will be productive and Mrs M's posts will keep inspiring me to be good and squirrel away saved money to keep us going later in the year when the work dries up. Think ds1 will have to start bringing the odd tin for the stock cupboard he eats here when he has his son twice a week so that turns feeding 4 to 6. Bless ds2 just seen im not shopping and put money on desk from his car fund saving for 1st car he's a skint student helps his dad with work just to ease the load (dad has been ill) and yesterday helped build 5 raised beds on the lotty. Oh dear sentimental moment I may not have the best of health, there my very well be spaces in the cupboards but I have 3 of the best kids going and am truely blessed
