    Phew I made it! :D
    I spent £41.81 at Mr. M's and £13.99 in Aldi's
But this does include £12.99 for a recycle bin so I'm pleased with this month's total.
I was very strong anddidn't buy any coffee!

So now can I declare, with a massive £2.76 left. :j
In fact put me at zero, DH can have the change for his 2 cans of lager tp watch the football with.
(not being tight, he's not supposed to drink at all).

MrsM I would like to declare at £125.39:j:j

I have had a total of 15 NSD's as well:j which probably explains coming in under budget, if I don't go in the store I don't spend any money:rotfl:

I now have the munchies so I think I will go put some flapjacks in the oven:D

I have been doing an inventory of my freezer and have five packets of what I think may be lamb lap.
They are the remnants of whole lambs I have had in the past. They seem to be just bone and a thin layer of skin and not much more. Does anyone recognise this joint and have any brilliant idea of how to cook and persuade my family to eat it?

I have managed to stay out of the shops for 5 days in a row & haven’t bought any more groceries since I did the big shop last Friday.

DD will be back next week & will need some bits & bobs for her pack-ups next week & there are a couple of other little bits I need to get sooner rather than later. So I have written a list to do a top up shop sometime over the next couple of days, before I get her back on Saturday.

I will still be well on target, for me, after the top up shop & more or less the same spend for this point in the month as each other month I have had an overall target of £120 IYSWIM!

But I am actually hoping to come in a little lower for June, as I do not need any meat or fish – still loads in even after the batch cook on Monday, & even if I saw some bargains there is not the tiniest crook or cranny in either freezer to stuff anything in!

    Hi all
:T to everyone who has come in on/under budget-you are our inspiration!

I am declaring for May at £145.75-well over but better than April. Sticking with £100 for June and I'm utterly deterimined to keep to budget!

Yes the ribs are still joined. So I bone them then stuff them I guess. There is a huge amount of fat on them, little meat, does that sound right? I want to try to use them up next month to save on meat costs but might experiment tomorrow.

My mum used to send me to the butchers when I was young to ask for breast of lamb, boned and rolled!

I really want to join this challenge for June though my month may start a little before the 1st.
Just a couple of questions for all you regulars, I'm planning on doing a bulk shop for lots of items, batch cook and freeze in individual portions, also buy and freeze sandwich fillings. Figuring if i cook it all in one go it will cost less in gas and electric and less trips to the shops means less spent (well thats the theory behind my thinking).
Can you freeze mozzarella balls?? ( the kind you get in liquid) or if not is there a more economic way of buying it that does freeze, i usually buy Tesco value mozzarella.
    Can you freeze cooked lasagne??
Finally am i right in thinking that if i have fresh sausages/ liver in the freezer can i cook them in gravy and re freeze?
