Well - I achieved my 3 NSDs in a row :j but now I've had to go shopping :(

The warm weather plus the kids being off school has meant we've had more cold meals than cooked, so the cheese, bread etc has gone faster than planned for, as has the fruit, squash and juice.

I've done a restock that Mr T is delivering for me later today along with a weeks worth of milk, as he was the cheapest this particular time.

I am unfortunately a little over budget - with 5 days to go, I have an overspend of £10.38 (or 42p a day).

I've allowed myself a cash-in-purse budget of £15 to finish the month, but (once more with feeling, lol), hopefully I shouldn't need much of it.

I'm not too dis-chuffed though - previous grocery challenges have seen me with almost 3 figure deficits by now  - so I am getting better :D - and the bonus is the freezers are still full of various hot meals that haven't been used, so I'm in a good position to start next month.

Not sure what happened to me in Lidl to-day....needed onions and baked beans....they cost me €71.95, bringing my total for May to €357.65...will definitely need some milk and maybe bread so am allowing another €6 for that.

Am declaring at €363.65 for May, an overspend of €73.65...not very happy with that I can tell you, will be meal planning between now and the weekend and making sure I keep under my target for June

    Hi All

I started the annual grocery challenge under a different user name (Free in Three) and since I stopped lurking recently due to training for a marathon and having so little free time my OS ways have slipped somewhat and I have spent £1100 out of my £2500 budget along with all the vouchers/points I was saving for Christmas:eek:

Please can you put me down for an annual budget £2650?

That should give me about £220 per month for 2 adults and 2 dogs including food, tolietries and cleaning/laundry stuff for the remainder of this year. Do-able I think when I get batch cooking again and am a lurker on this thread again.

I must be back Mrs M has put me on the list, thank you.

Checked the freezer yesterday, still have an access of lemons (nearly 30!) also now have about 2 litres of expressed milk for the baby. The rest is mainly fruit & veg must think up ways to use these up. Then plan to be more organised and freeze in a more logical way.

Still strugglering with meal planning, have managed to work out 3 days worth:
    Tuesday: rissotto
Wednesday: on toast, I'll probably have sardines and DS will have beans or cheese
Thursday: Fish pie for me and Salmon steak for DS
OH works away from home on these days, he has taken for his main meal Jacket potatoes, Welsh rabbet, HM ready meal.

We are usually given eggs by my sister but the local fox has taken 6 of the 7 hens over the weekend, so I'll now be back to buying eggs. More money gone from our grocery budget.

oh my word - well i've finally seen the truth about how much i spend and its all down to joining you chaps on this board with your monthly spend challenges. i have failed miserably but i am treating it very positively, because i'm learning about myself too. so i'm going to up my budget to £350 for june and if that isn't realistic then i'll have to re-evaluate things some more! I won't be buying beer or contact lenses in june, so hopefully that will take the sting out of my spending next month but we'll see...
