Didn't do so well, I spent £74.68 which is over my £40 budget. It was the first time I've done this though and I think I was being a bit ambitious. I'll try £60 for June.

Doing a lot better this month than last and have been a lot stricter with buying milk and bread. Will need another bottle of milk and maybe some bread in the next couple of days, but that should be all.

Declaring as failed entirely! At least £50 over budget from the house budget and probably much much more if you count the things we have bought from our own spending money

Mrs M please put me down for £350 for June I will try to do better next month.

On the plus side we do seem to have eaten lots from the cupboards and freezer

    Hi Mrs. M.
I am declaring at £170 for may for weekly shops but forgot that sahd(dad) has £100 allocated for top up shops in the week and will not say how much he spends, so please put me down for June as £250 again for my shops and catfood.

  • Hello all, not been here for a while! I've been so busy with finals that MSE has taken a back seat this month. My total appears to be £29.57. I don't know how I spent so little on food this month tbh... must have been going to the parents' for quiet study time away from the flatmates!

I haven't included in this my pre-exam bacon roll I had each morning on exam morning, but that was my good luck treat... and fingers crossed it worked!

Hi, am going to declare £265.95 for May, so not too far over my budget....however I know I could have been much better and I didn't include some food I bought towards my friends barbecue (as I saw it as different to our budget and counted into my 'social' spends) and I also did not include alcohol (again a different budget)

I really need to get my finger out in June and do some more proper cooking....I am going to say £250 again for June and am going to really try hard this month to stay under.....am also going to include alcohol in this as dh and I are cutting down so hope that this will also help with that...

Thanks for all your tips guys....Hope you are all having a nice weekend x

Declaring at £327 for May- please put me down for £300 for June.

Not feeling too bad about going over budget as overspend was caused by it being a 5 week month supermarket shopping wise & the milk lady calling to be paid having not been round for months! Hopefully will be well under budget in June

I'm declaring for May - I have 2 days left, but don't intend to leave the house so won't be spending any more - it's too nice to drag the kids away from the garden :)

My total spend for May is £284.91 from an original budget of £260. I'm happy with that as I know exactly where the overspend was - half term - and I kept it within my 'extra' bit of budget I posted a few days ago - so I see no reason for me not to bring it in under budget next month.
