One day left to declare, think only have a bit of milk possibly to get to put in the freezer for my parents visit. Just using up the chnage at the moment by going through the cupboards and making sure I dont need anything - hence a new hairbrush.... Hoping that next month will be better and i will stop trying to spend so much...0

Let's see, May came in at £162.72, which puts my years total so far at £852.53. This is roughly right, give or take £10, so doing well so far considering all the price increases we've been seeing across the board. No spend needed tomorrow as we're going for a barbecue at my parents house, so will bake a cake or cookies this evening for my contribution, plus some sausages from the freezer.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650

I'm declaring my May total at £61.89 significantly under budget but I didn't have to buy any meat due to having an overflowing freezer. Will wander over to June's thread...0

Oooops! I placed an order with App Foods last night, so I'm officially over the target budget I declared at the start of the month.
If I add in the extra I should have had due to elder son being home for a week, then I'm only 98p over - so not too bad.
Will hold off adding it to my May totals - and declaring - until the order actually arrives though. I can then adjust for anything that may not come, and I need to see a couple of the items to work out what the 'real' value is (for my Whoosie records)
The delivery charge comes out of a different budget - a decision I made on how to play this when I placed my first order a couple of months ago. If I bought things from a large supermarket I'd have to drive (and the petrol costs are a separate budget) so seemeda fair way to deal with this - and the best way to keep my grocery budget for food costs only.
(Have deducted 37p from my spends due to using some of my potatoes and onions in a couple of batches of soup I'm making for DD - and which she's repaying the cost of the ingredients.)
I need to nip out in a little while for some bread and milk - but I'll be putting these on my June spends as I could last until tomorrow before buying them. Only going today as going on a Monday means dragging my younger GD to the shops with me after we've both spent a busy morning in pre-school......Cheryl0 -
Sorry all,I haven't been able to keep up with thread.
I have been very good-must have ,because I've a lot of money left in the bank:rotfl:
Oldest DD gave birth to Angharad Catherine on 11th May,beautiful sister to Manon,so was down with them for a week.
That did cost an arm and a leg, what with the train, treats, extra food for DH left at home, plants for DD garden, and stuff.......
On top of that I had yet more fund raisers and a WI show:eek:
I shall declare at £190 please Mrsmc and take the 'baby' visit out of my savings.
That isn't cheating ,is it?
Ooh sorry £180 for June please Mrsmc.
Will try to do better next month,to read the threads, keep receipts and update spending diary
See you all in June
