I have been thinking more about this as got my revised IPA of £78 this week and decided to question my Gas & Electric allowance of £82 per month so I sent OR following email, please let me know what you all think. If it is allowed it brings my surplus to £88 so no IPA.

Further to latest IPA received this week I have 1 more question with regards to Gas and Electricity as I have been looking at my last 2 previous bills and I am paying them a lot more than the £84 per month that you allowed. I had asked for £150 PM allowance on my SOA but you changed to come in line with average expenditure.

    Here is a breakdown of my last 2 bills which were not estimated and actually read by meter reader;

    Electricity

    Feb Bill - £193.64
    May Bill - £167.18

Total for 6 months £360.82 average PM is £60.13

    Gas

    Jan Bill - £397.69
    Apr Bill - £308.91

Total for 6 months £706.60 average PM is £117.76

Total monthly payments for both over last 6 months come to £177.90.

When filling in my SOA my estimate was based on Gas approx £100PM and Electricity approx £50 hence my figure of £150 for both.

Please advise me if you should take the above into consideration and if needed I will provide copies of the bills which I will put in the post to you?

    Yours Sincerely,

A reasonable exminor/OR would accept that, after all gas and electric increased 50% since those guidelines where last updated, granted they have come down a bit again, but not by as much by a long way:rolleyes:

So your OR is baseing your I&E on figures that are way out of date, and they should be fully aware of that fact.

The more you post, the more i feel you should invite them to ask a court to decide this one, it sounds to me you have a career minded, target driven examinor/OR.

I have a feeling if you did they would back down, it has happened before, only once i have seen them take it to court, and then the OR lost;) (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=948287&highlight= i think is the thread)

Thanks I looked at the thread and wow what a long road they had but well worth it in the end:)

I am hoping she just accepts this, as I said I have the proof and can send copies of the bills. Debt Doctor has also said to me that the figures have been agreed so she couldn't try to change what she has already allowed and TBH she didn't try to change anything else allowed when I queried CB and DLA...

I am hoping she is reasonable and is realistic about Gas and Electric as I use far more than the £84 allowed....

I know it might be an extra stress but am i right in thinking that if your OR declines this, just let the Court decide as you having nothing to lose? I'm assuming the Court would not reduce your SOA (fuel expenses) even further?

I've got £100 down for eleccy/gas and am still waiting for an official response regarding my SOA, I'll let you know what they say.

Good luck with it, looking forward to your updates :money:

I got some good news today, the OR has allowed me £150 for Gas and Electricity which means I will have no IPA. I have changed my signature in celebration!!!!
