No Interview and got IPA Today

  • I wonder how many other people have had IPA calculated where they used the CB.
Good luck and let us know what they have to say!

True especially as I had no interview you would think they would just have cut back a lot on SOA and as you can see they only cut back by £69, it does make me wonder as she said all allowances she gave me were by the book based on 2 adults and 2 children so other people in my situation who are doing SOA take note of allowances that I was given. Especially the Household Shopping £600.

your gas and electric worries me, ours is £200 a month and we have bills to proove it, we have to have the heating on alot though due to illness. but evenso electric is still £80 a month alone. 5 of us in 4bed. :-/ not had IPA yet... nearly 4 months in do you think they forgot about us? lol. doubt it.

I thought that too my last Gas Bill was £308 for 3 months and Elec £190 for 3 months, I just don't want to fight too much as if I get DLA & CB taken off I would have no IPA. Also definately CB has to be taken off so IPA will go from £173 to £79 approx. I was going to put it on my Email and I have the bills to prove it but my DH said to leave that bit out as she might get annoyed with me and cut back other allowances that we feel she was generous with. Holiday 80, Childrens Activities 60, Car Tax, Mot, Maintenance £100, School Dinners £100.

Maybe your OR is busy but seems a long time, I only went BR 30/3 and am at this stage already so I thought mine was really quick - hopefully I get ED by end of summer;) I can dream anywayxx

    Well good luck with that!
I am with a trustee rather than OR, Trustees are well known for been a bit money grabbing tight fisted...
When we gave the SOA he scribbled off my daughters violin lessons straight away £5 per wk, also removed holidays.. he also made me pay towards my car when it should have been exempt (1.7k and needed for work) but saying that he was very generous when it came to the BI in our home :-)
He is still working hard on our case, we are getting phone calls asking questions about enteries on bank statements atm!

    Hi all,

In reply to this long thread I got a call from OR today, as you can see she set IPA at £173 but it worked out that she included CB and my Son's DLA which I questioned. Well today she called and advised me that she should have not included CB only, she seemed a bit grumpy:mad: (maybe because I questioned it in the first place) and then asked me questions about my DH contribution. He used to be a Mortgage Broker with good wages but now temps from week to week and has debts of his own. I put down what he can afford and the rest covers his debts. She then asked how I managed the debt up to last August and I told her my DH helped cover my debts up to then but as our situation changed (he lost his job and even first 2 months just worked in sainsburys 2 nights a week) I could not pay mine anymore. She said she would get back by Email this afternoon but she hasn't, I had asked her would I get a new IPA an she said yes.

My DH didn't go BR as he may want to get into financial services again and would not be able to do job if he went BR. It is my understanding that as I am the one going BR that they would not get my DH involved. Can she now change IPA or is she allowed to have my DH involved?

Has anyone experience of OR looking into non BR spouse's affairs?

    Thanks,

As long as your OH is contributing his 'share' to the joint household expenditure, then she has no right to investigate his income.

But, there is always a but:rolleyes: if his contribution is less than 50% then they can ask him to 'volenteer' the info, if he does not they will just put down he is contributing 50%, so the important question is how does it break down on your I&E?

Dont worry about her getting the hump, and ignore her comment for now re you getting an IPA, its unlikely she she will be able to justify it;)
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
