  • Well then your groceries will have been cut down to about £450/£500 I would guess. Clothing probably down to £130ish. Possibly school dinners and activies as well.

This is only conjecture on what we have seen allowed before. How old are your children? Are they both at school? If one is at Childminders why are you claiming school dinners?

Yes they are 13 and 9, the nine year old likes school dinners and gets picked up from childminder at 5pm and only has a snack there.

We were allowed £600 for 2adults and four kids towards groceries. Without knowing what the OR has cut down/allowed we are just guesstimating. I would say that £60 for kids activites is high, we were told £5 per child per month.

    Jen

I thought I would try as 1 plays Violin and they both do rugby with subscriptions it is expensive;)

So they both go to school and then the 9 year old goes to the child minder?

Usual allowance for school dinners is £2 primary and £3 secondary per day.

  • restofmylife, i would not try to second guess what the OR has cut back on, insist on it in writing, some of your I&E may seem a bit high, but that mainly seems to be in the child bits, so may be able to offsett those due to the disabilaty.

What ever you do refuse to sign an IPA untill they supply a breakdown, most will without a second thought, but we get the odd OR that can be awkward, just stand your ground until you get the info to decide if the IPA is fair (i must admit, on face value i doubt it is;))
Thats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all …………. :(
  • Jenni we usually suggest £5 per child per week on here for activities.

Yes that is what I estimated it as and tried a bit extra I know it should have been about £45-50 PCM

  • Do they both go to school and then the 9 year old goes to the child minder?

The Childminder has my 9 year old from 7am until school and then after school until 5, also fulltime during school holidays or inset days.

    Thanks blindasabat,

    I am hoping they will provide a breakdown on the Email tomorrow, I hope they don't call me at work - this is what I said on the Email;

    Dear xxxx,

I received a copy of my IPA yesterday in the post and am asking if it would be possible if you could advise me a breakdown of what was allowed on my SOA as I didn't have a Telephone Interview? Could you advise if my son's Disability Living Allowance and Child Benefit was taken into account when working out my IPA payment?

I called the office at 5:15pm today (after work as difficult to talk) but nobody could advise me.

Appreciate your help on this matter before I send IPA Agreement back.

    Yours Faithfully,

    Does that look Ok?

apologies, i did mean per week. My error, still it could be considered high at £60 for 2 children. It is over a year since we were br so also increases are bound to have taken place since.

Forgot about school holidays so £100 PCM is too high I guess should have done £25 per week over about 40 weeks so guess it should have been £83.30?

  • It's definitely worth chasing up the OR to see what he has disallowed as you will be having to pay this amount for the next 36 months and if you don't query it now it will be too late to change it later on.
