Afternoon all.
A soggy day in Concrete Cow Country today, so the bathroom is festooned with wet washing.
It's a nuisance; I was hoping that Mr LW would help me start on tidying the borders when he gets in this evening, for half an hour or so, but it'll be too wet, even if the rain stops. I did ask him to start on them yesterday, but he decided he was going to wash the outsides of all the windows instead.
Actually, we're supposed to be attending a CAMRA branch meeting tonight - I really don't feel like going, but we've missed several (mainly due to wheelchair access issues) so we ought to try and put in an appearance.
I'm trying to think what to do for dins tonight - can't be @rsed with cooking, if I'm honest; perhaps if someone would be kind enough to boot me into action:D I might get around to looking throught my recipe files for inspiration.
Fingers crossed for those going to hospital today, also good luck to SOMO1 for the exam.
Wolfy ((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

. I've got a chicken carcass simmering to make stock and I'm going to make leek and potato soup with homegrown leeks and homemade bread with an apple crumble and custard to follow.
sounds yummy - can I come to tea?;):DDo what you love :happyhear0 -
That'll be why it's raining then!
Gentle "boot" for you LW....how about eggs beans 'n' chimps?
I didn't sleep last night (still staring at the ceiling at 3:30 am) so I'm shattered today. Might try and get a bit of kip this afternoon and see if that livens me up.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks for that Sunny Girl, unfortunately they are half way there, at least we have not heard anything to the contrary.......
I got the front bedroom window done and the bedroom and bathroom cleaned before the post came. OH's pension rise was there so hightailed it into town. Got to the Offices.........'no more appointments today, come back tomorrow'....oh no sunshine I am not coming back tomorrow.........I patiently explained that I had a sick hsuband at home, I had someone sitting with him whilst I got the HB sorted out and no way could I came back tomorrow we have hospital appointments..........eventually he gave way, handed me a form to fill in and said I would have to sit and wait, thats fine, I just wanted to get it sorted out.
I waited just over an hour and then spent an hour patiently explaining why we took on the tenancy on 31st March but did not move in until 8th April........why I was applying and not OH and various other bits, boy do you have to jump through hoops to get a paltry bit of dosh in Housing and Council Tax benefit, and they penalise us because we have a 2 bed house and the council consider that one is sufficient for a married couple.....hey ho we will see what the post brings us in a couple of weeks time. In the mean time I am waiting for my P60 to come back from the tax office with my new rate of pension in full.......
OH had been fine whlst I was out.....it stopped raining, but its blooming cold, we have the heating on low........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Afternoon everybody.Hope all are well, only skimmed yesterday and today.Had a lovely day out yesterday in DHs old banger-he'd kill me for saying that, its a classic car,and we went on a St Georges celebration car rally round rural Lancashire, good fun and met some great people. The last checkpoint was an old pub and lunch had been arranged. The weather was fantastic too.
Not done a lot today apart from tidy round and then clean all the conservatory glass with vinegar spray.Very impressed how it gets all the spider marks off so easily.
Fish wrapped with bacon for tea,and some salad.the leaves have gone mad over the weekend so need a bit of pruning!

Well the rain finally arrived, and that slowed down my spring cleaning a bit as my joints were really giving me gyp this afternoon, but I did some reading instead Oh the joys of being retired ,you can knock off when ever you feel like.
Am going to try to find out how my niece in Mexico City is coping later .She has lived there since marrying a Mexican chap in 1974.She owns and runs a restaraunt there, so I bet she will be closed for awhile.Very worrying with all the news at the moment.
Found a nice piece of angus steak in the freezer for dinner tonight, so combined with some Charlotte potatos and some salad I shall have a nice healthy dinner, followed by fresh fruit salad.
hope the weather perks up a bit as I'm really chilly at the moment ,just going to switch the heating on, can't believe it's almost May Brrr0 -

I'm off work tomorrow, so will get out into the garden and plant some more seeds
