  • Morning everyone - it's a wet one here in Oxfordshire ;)

Just packed DH off to work with his sandwiches (HM bread) and HM flapjacks - had to iron his trousers and shirt as well  so an early start for me ;)

Work this morning, then an exam at college this afternoon  Breathe breathe breathe :D

DD has just eaten her breakfast and is now going to get dressed for school, I'm going to jump in the shower in a min and read my study books.

DD will be having tea at the in laws, DH will probably have some soup and by the time I get home at 9pm I probably won't be hungry ;)

Penny Pincher and Christabell - good luck at the hospital

    Have a lovely day everyone
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

    Good Morning

Pouring with rain here, doesn't look like I'll get my walk in this morning.

Nice to see you Jamie. Chilli is nice with baked beans instead of kidney beans if you have any. Call it Cowboy Stew;)

We're having a sort of chilli today too. I have leftover brisket. It was delicious, long shreds of tender, flavourful meat. I don't have that much left so I thought I'd add some beans, finish up a carton of passata into the bargain. Just the thing for wet weather.

Breakfast is going to be porridge and the packed lunches have muffin pizzas, apricot and cinnamon muffins (the other kind) and apples in them. I've got a slice of leftover mushroom quiche.

French class today. I was a bit alarmed to find I only have 4 more lessons after today's.

    Have a good one everyone.

PP - I brown meatballs in a frying pan then add the sauce for about 20 mins.

Thanks for that EG - I was wondering if you cooked them first.

.......Having lamb meatballs later that OH got reduced. How does he cook them? I was thinking SC in pasta sauce for a couple of hours:confused:.....

We had meatballs the other night - I made a tomato sauce with an onion & plum tomatoes, added garlic and thyme and a little sugar.....whizzed it in the blender so it was still a bit lumpy, then simmered the meatballs for about 15-20 mins.

How about risotto? There's a really nice recipe in the new Delicious magazine for asparagus & lemon risotto. Last weekend we had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon & asparagus - yummy!

It's hardly a recipe Stressedoutmum:) Simply halve an English muffin, spread with passata/tomato puree, add ham/salami/bacon/tomatoes/mushrooms and top with cheese. Grill.

They're best hot, but the kids like them in their lunch boxes.
