Goodness! I logged on and thought I was on the wrong thread:DHello to all the newbies.
I think I have a bug! Had a chicken wrap last night and then suddenly it all started-was up most of the night, breakfast wouldnt stay down either. So DF flattened some coke for me and I've got some bread in the BM so I guess its that and bovril for me today.
Not much else to say I guess, doing admin today because lo downstairs was sent up without any clothes...again! If I were daycare I doubt Id accept her that way would I?:rolleyes:0 -

hi everyone, hope everyone is ok. Get well polka.
I had a tourist brochure through from chester today, it looks lovely. I think i might have to go up there later in the year. Reminds me of where i live mixed in with york.
I've always wanted to try couscous kpc. I may have to try some.
Ohh i made jelly yesterday and it set! (ive done loads before cos my measuring jug is in foreign so i dunno what is what on it) So i always put too much water in it. I put some in my apple ice cube moulds but that didnt work so well ha.
ohh and i forgot to say that matt has got through his assassessment dates today to be a PC. Weve waited 6 months to get this date! I hope he becomes one cos the uniform is better.0 -

I wish I'd sent her back. Mother literally opened my door, and left. I've told DF from now on to lock the door when he leaves so that she has to wait. I've been sat indoors with the two of them all day.:rolleyes:Suppose at any rate I only have a few weeks left before we move.
Thanks Vix you've never had couscous:eek: you must. In South Africa it was considered a rich mans food so I had never had it because we couldnt afford it-now I barely ever eat rice.0 -
Had a great day today, went swimming with my sister, and decided to do the whole steam room/sauna/swim in several rotations. I still can't force myself to eat breakfast, but had 2 sarnies for lunch and a slice of sw recipe carrot cake that my sis made. Gonna just have a salad for dinner as my (x)OH is coming over for lunch tomorrow and have done a very fattening macaroni cheese for lunch. Well it's his favourite and he hasn't had it for a while, so let's be nice to him. Have just cooked it so it's ready to go into oven tomorrow, and I could eat the lot by myself now! Roll on tomorrow, then I'll feel fat n orrible again :rotfl:4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

Missy I may have exaggerated a bit about the "absolute agony" I was exceptionally stiff but it was the day after and probably because I should have done more stretching etc on the day of the run. After the run my recovery was much better than the first time I ran that distance and apart from feeling a little worn out (in a good way) I was fine. First time I ran 10k my hips hurt after and was pretty stiff and achey after. I now know that I should do some serious stretching or pilates after the run and then I'll be fine. Sorry to have worried you.
Vix Chester is gorgeous. Used to live near there and I still love going there. My sister's at uni there too so I can try and find out some places that are good to go if you do decide to visit. I want to visit York this year as I haven't been since I was little and I barely remember it.0 -
Welcome to more newbies!
Half a pound off this week please unknown 3rd (is that right?)
So according to my figures that would be 25.75 total and 2.75 this month. I think the chart figues might be a bit wobbly.
I was going to say only half a pound off but then thought 'hey half a pound every week .... 26lb in a year .... that would be upping my average over the last two years!
Fingers crossed for Matt's assessment, Vix. When is it?
Update on the kitchen saga -for those who can bear the boredom - I now have a tiled floor and several cupboard carcases fitted but my drinking water 'tap' (aka standpipe with little stopcock) is now inaccessible. Water is via the garden tap - good fun in the dark.
Pictures avaialble on FB --- tried to put on here but it made the screen go all wide - don't know why?0 -
Ah, good to hear that Vixstar! My post-running routine goes like this if it's any interest:
- Slow to a walk and gradually reduce to a very leisurely pace for the warm-down, this can be anything from about 3 mins after a 5K, to 15-20 mins for my longer runs (if you're not doing it already, this alone should really help reduce muscle ache).
- Stretch running muscles (ideally I need to do a much more comprehensive stretch routine after my long runs - working on this!)
- Warm shower/bath (don't always do this immediately for easier runs, but I do for the higher effort ones, it's supposed to help flush fresh blood through the muscles).
- If hungry, very small snack to start the refuelling process.
- Full meal 1-2 hours afterwards, with good helping of protein & carb
Will you let us know how the next one goes?0 -
