flobalob granny & sary & all. I've declared today a duvet day as I don't feel myself at all and I have to go to London tomorrow afternoon.(Off to see neffie beat the retreat at horseguards; a gathering of nearly the entire BB clan)

beanie, I would have thougth a motorised skateboard with stabilisers might be the way to go? Then the 3 legged stick could be used to push people out of your way...

Amazingly the flukey weightloss of yesterday is still there today so i must be doing something right. I think my appetite is a bit off - had to force myself to have breakfast this morning (boiled egg & dry toast)as I still hadn't eaten by 11.15 and didn't want to very much either.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

one of the party has got shingles, he says it is not contagious but it is according to google and no I have not had chicken pox:rolleyes:

VIC I had shingles last year & the doc said its only contagious if you touch the liquid stuff that comes out of the spots (like you would! :rotfl:), thats the only way you can get it. I've had chicken pox twice (its rubbish that you can only get it once). When I was nannying I caught everything!!! lol
So just don't be offering to rub in his sun tan lotion for him! lol
If its at that stage try & get him to keep an item of clothing on to cover it & make sure no one else touches any clothes he's had on. You should be safe then.
Before we knew what it was I showed my friends & 2 of them touched it (strange people!) & they were fine. Poor guy though, its bl***y sore!

    Enjoy your holiday! :D xx

BB Nothing makes me feel better than a duvet day! Hope it works for you! x

Remember taking shingles when i was 16. Just had 2 new born beautiful nieces, doctors receptionist put me in a side room, forgot about me, 2 hrs later they remembered, doctor confirmed that it was shingles, and told me it wasn't infectious, could catch shingles from chickenpox but not vice versa. GRRRRRRR. Went out and told the receptionist that the doctor said shingles wasn't contagious, to save anyone else going through the 2 hrs solitary confinement, and her response was "What does he know?!" made me lol anyhoo.

And yes it's a myth that you can only get chickenpox once, had a mild dose as a baby, then shingles at 16, then a real bad dose of chickenpox when i was 27ish.

Having a pretty good day here, cereal for brekkie (omg i ate breakfast),trusty apple for elevensies, 2 slices of toast and chicken for lunch, dunno what i'll have for dinner yet, probably a ready meal as i'm here on my own tonight :j I hate cooking for one tho,

Thats weird then, cos thats the opposite of what I was told! I was told that people could catch chicken pox from my having shingles!:rotfl:Shingles is a Herpes variant, the virus sits in your spinal cord and waits for a way in. In my case I was extremely run down, kept picking up one thing after another, was really stressed due to work & home problems & basically was the perfect target for the virus to come out so it took its opportunity. Its funny how one doctor will tell you one thing & another doctor will tell you something else! At my local surgery you could go to one doctor & be given a piece of information, only to return with the same problem, see a different doctor & be told something completly different! lol

    hey guys,

Duvet days make me feel gross! I've never had one.. only when im ill. My parents would kill me if i ever did. I remember the first time i had a hangover and i came downstairs with my duvet like i did every saturday when i was a girl for a bit (thats as close as i got) she took one look at me and was like, "oooh no you dont" and made me get changed and do things ha! I will get one in one day.

I came on the other night at about 3am. Such a great time to start, not. I had stock take that day and i forgot to take any tims so i had to borrow some WITHOUT AN APLICATOR. Quite dirty i thought? i washed my hands twice before hand but still, its a bit ming.

Im off to look up holiday clothes, im so sodding excited.

yes SL chickenpox is the herpes virus too, hence why it's got to be in your spine before you get shingles. According to what they told me anyhoo. But sometimes i think they all have their own ideas, i'm happy to say that none of my darling new born nieces caught chickenpox from me though :j

Herpes virus does attack more when your feeling run down, that's why it's normal to get cold sores then too, I always seem to catch some sort of outbreak on a plane, never on the way there, but on the way home, no matter what time of year, guess it's the thought of coming home that does that to me

I do start at the same time too, always between 7 and 9am, half way through my shift. Luckily i always get the tell tale headache the day before so I can prepare. My poor DD though, was like you guys, here there and everywhere, no consideration whatsoever!! Poor cow. Depo injection was the best thing that could have happened to her.

That is pretty much what the doc says, it is the blisters that are the contagious part touching them and a link to chicken pox which I have not had but then the doc said that I coud be immune to that because my DS had them as a baby covered head to foot and I never got it but even so all this shingles and have you have you not is not ideal to start a hol with:rolleyes:

Yep he did say he was in a lot of pain:rolleyes: he will be in even more pain if he gives it to me or my mother who is 82 and also panicking:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
