Can I have a Visa Debit with NatWest??

Does anyone know how to get the Purple Visa Debit card instead of the Blue one with NatWest? I called Telephone Banking who said that I would need to visit a branch.

Went into branch yesterday to be told "We only issue Visa Debit Cards now". I told them that yes it is true, but I wan't the Purple Visa Debit Card instead so it can be used Offline on Trains, Pay @ Pumps etc..

I told her it's on the NatWest Website and she found it and said without lookiong she would have not known about this?

So any tips on how i can get this Purple looking Visa Debit Card from Natwest?

The Branch Staff are meant to be "looking into this" but I can't see them calling me back for some reason?

What account do you have? If its a basic accont, you can only have the blue one, if its a current plus account, you have to qualify for the card (internal scoring) as at the moment its also a cheque guarantee card. I have the purple one with my current plus account, and the blue one with my first reserve account

Ask to have your card upgraded to cheque guarantee facility if you have a current account. If you only have a step account you can't have it.

I have the Advantage Gold account.

Are they still giving these out with them being no more next year? Will my chances be broken of wanting one of these cards now at all!

I believe they will stop issuing the CGC from January 2011.

So will that mean that everyone will have the blue full auth card at one point once CGC is phased out?

Nope, they are replacing the CGC with Visa Paywave (contactless cards). The full auth will remain full auth cards.

yep the barclaycard ads show the visa paywave terminals
im hoping to see what colour card i get in a few days too
