my ulsterbank card arrived, with the most rediculous card number on it all 00's except for the last 3 ! i've obviously changed the last 3 in the photo not going to put my card number on the internet.
You get all 0's probably being a new batch of numbers (i.e. BIN's) so all will start with 0's until a few sequences have filled.....2010 - year of the troll

You will get a visa debit card. It will check you balance every time you use it, and if its not able to check you've got money to cover your spend , it will decline the sale.0 -
Does the online banking system for RBS/Natwest do the following when you use your card. And its not a new visa debit thing this happened with maestro too, on ulsterbank anyway
EG:
Balance is £100 on Monday, i spend £50 on my card, the screen will say then
Balance £100 Available £50
So you leave it overnight and look again on Tuesday
Balance £100 Available £100
it seems to put the money back into your account until such a time as the retailer claims it, and you can spend it obviously which would put you overdrawn.
It doesn't do it on all the transactions, some of them will come off the available and stay off until they appear as taken by the retailer.
on my account at the moment there is £20 to pizza hut and £10 to oyster card not accounted for in my available balance.
I thought it might be a floor limit thing, but if that was the case it wouldn't deduct at all it would just get taken when the retailer sends in the voucher.
Also money clearing into the account on Monday morning, including cheques, is available to Spend on the previous Saturday. And you can withdraw it from ATM and use your card no problem. But if you do an online transfer on the weekend to another account, you go overdrawn and get charged !0 -

When your card expires, you will get a VISA debit. Alternatively, you could report your card as 'lost/stolen/damage'. You will get the card within 3-7 working days.0 -

Very occasionally I have transactions credit back on to my natwest available balance0
