Can I have a Visa Debit with NatWest??

There is a lot of reference to this change on the internet by doing a Google search, as has been pointed out its also listed on wikipedia which to be honest is noramlly very accurate

Have just spoke with a really helpful lass in the sales department who initially knew nothing about the change over but she said she would look on the RBS internal internet and found a communication about the change over and its definately happening around June or July 2009

Good to hear this is definately going to happen (straight from the 'horses mouth'). I'm starting to count down now, lol. By the way, do you know the exact time in June or July (i.e. early, middle, end)?

Hopefully, when I call Natwest, they will have the same answer (again from the 'horses mouth'), not just RBS.

Even though, Wikipdia is correct, I still want to know from the exact organisation.

The girl i spoke with never gave an exact date, in fact i should maybe correct my above post as her exact words were " The change will happen in the second part of 2009" I then said "So that would be June or July" She said "Yes"

She was reading it off the internal bank internet site so if you are double checking things with Natwest or RBS and they don't know anything about the change over get them to check their internal internet as there is information on there about it.

Ive check on insight which the RBS groups internal internet site and I regret to inform you theres no such communication.

Ive also spoken to card services who would be the first to know seeing as they issue the cards and they no nothing about it either :-)

Well your colleagues on 0808 100 0808 found the information on there internal website and let me tell you she certainly knew what she was talking about...

It took her a few minutes for her to find the information on the internal website and she read out to me...

It really does seems strange why some people at RBS know about the change and others are in the dark.

I guess the best thing to do is watch this space and see what happens!

Well the plot thickens, I finally got round to phoning NatWest and after being put on hold they confirmed that there are NO plans to change to Visa! What is going on at the RBS group these days?! You would think that if the change is to happen mid-year they would have at least briefed their front-line staff?

The fact that some people have managed to find some info definitely suggests this change is going to happen, but it's a mystery as to why it's so difficult to find a definitive answer.

If they can't get their comms sorted, maybe I don't want to bank with them after all.

I have only ever had Maestro and don't really like VISA, same with c/c I prefer my MasterCard
