A kid called Kenny Glenn posted videos on youtube of him abusing his pet cat Dusty. An internet group called Anonymous found out, Tracked him down to where he lived and informed the police. His personal details where leaked online, His family where harrased 24/7, and his dads oil business failed. Serves the little **** right. You harm an animal, You pay the price.

I love to hear of something like this give's me a smug smile and a nice warm feeling.
Hopefully there'll come a time when man will realise he's no better than any other creature who walks this earth but I doubt it.
    He's far too arrogant.
The way some of the anti cat brigade on here go on it seems they don't even poo. After all it's such a crime for the cat's to do it,they can't possibly do it themselves.
I just wonder how they'd manage without a toilet if they had to manage their own waste after all they're advanced beings not lowly little animals so naturally it would be clean, not smell and be invisible.

    helenjg,

the trouble is, in part, that in the UK, the harm done by cats is not regarded as serious harm. As you know (I'm assuming you live in nz, karori comes to mind) cats can do extremely serious harm in countries where native birds are flightless. So we're more sensitive to the issue. I have sympathy with people in Oz and NZ who think that pet cats should be banned. It's hard to explain here.

I think that neighbours should not have to put up with your pets fouling their garden. As tough as this sounds, your choice should not impact on neighbours. I have experienced digging in my garden to find cat sh*te on my hands, and it is not nice. Especially when babies and toddlers around. That said, I don't agree or think it is anyway legal to have the death threats against pets. It is the owners who have to be responsible and not get them if the environment is unsuitable.

How the bliddy hell do you think anyone can control where a cat shoits.
Its not up to the cat owner, its up to the person who doestn want cats in the garden to put measures in place to shun the cats out, Mothballs,
    orange peel etc.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

Most of the people on this thread have never posted on this board before.

It is like some kind of moggy flash-mobbing.

People, if you have no advice for the OP (and "cats are soooooooooo cute" is not advice) then maybe your thoughts would be better received in a more appropriate forum. This is House Buying, Renting and Selling after all.

The OP went away a while ago just in case nobody noticed. And who can blame them?

Who wants to bet that this thread gets to 20 pages before it gets deleted?

Here you are from the Moggie protection league:

How can I encourage my cat to stay in my garden, so as not to upset the neighbours?
It is impossible to eradicate your cat's natural desire to explore, but it can be curbed somewhat by neutering. You can also encourage your cat to stay in your garden by making it as interesting as possible so he won't want to leave.

Neighbours are most often upset by cats toileting in their garden - you can encourage your cat to use your own garden by providing a good toileting site within your own boundaries. A good toileting site for a cat is somewhere with easily raked material, which is also private and secluded. Digging over an area that is enclosed by bushes and easily accessible from the house could well be enough to encourage toileting closer to home.

You can also enclose your back garden using a fencing kit; however this can be costly and is not always 100 per cent effective.

    Can a cat be trained?
Yes, cats can be trained. They can, for example, be taught to come when called, 'sit', or do tricks such as 'give a paw', and many cats will enjoy training sessions. Cats are, however, generally not as easy to train as dogs. One reason for this is that dogs are more likely to find their toys, their owner's attention, and food treats 'rewarding', and will learn to do asks in order to be given these things. When training cats, it is important to find something that they really like, such as a prawn or piece of chicken, to reward them, so that they can learn new behaviours. Cats also tend to concentrate on training for a shorter period of time than dogs. Training sessions with cats, therefore, need to be kept short and sweet! Cats, just like dogs, can be trained very successfully using 'clicker training'.
Cats are generally very easily house-trained. In most cases kittens learn to toilet in the appropriate place when they are very tiny kittens, when they are taken to the litter tray by their mother.

Clearly it is the owners and not the cats who are at fault then - get the bu**ers neutered and click at them until they carp in amongst your very own rosebushes. ( neutering for either cat or owner - whatever works)
