Her cat is not causing her grieve the neighbour who threatned to kill it is causing the grieve !!!! the cat should not be put down because it is doing what comes natuaral to it ie killing a bird.

Tell me do you eat meat ? whatever you eat somebody else is killing it for you or harvesting it for you and because you eat something should you be put down ?

    jeez all mighty

    Vege all the way dear.

I didn't say that the neighbour was right, I think the neighbour was wrong. The only time I've killed a cat was one that had been caught in a trap in a kiwi reserve. I didn't enjoy it I wouldn't want to have to do it again.

Oh god... I think I might accuse all the people disagreeing with me as being trolls. Really people, can we not have a heated discussion without resorting to name calling?

Edit: Maybe we should rename the forum to "Someone had an opinion that differed to mine so I'm going to call them a Troll"

Sensible post and sensible solution. You both came to an amicable solution. Shame more can't follow your example

I have already said I will suggest this to my neighbours if the problems continue :)

To the OP,hope you can sort your lovely neighbour out.
As far as this thread goes.I always have to laugh at the anti cat brigade. It realy shows the arrogance of man, after all we're so blooming perfect as a species are'nt we.We never kill or destroy or make a mess do we.
Just for the record I don't mind the cats(although I don't have any myself) coming into my garden.I've even got a poop scoop incase they leave any little gifts. It's the horrible little kids who pull up my flowers and throw the rubbish that I mind.

Lol get the kids put down mrstittlemouse

The European wildcat (Felis silvestris silvestris) recolonised the British mainland after the Last Glacial Maximum as the icesheet cover retreated - roughly 22,000 years ago

Though no longer found in most of England it has maintained its home in the Scottish Highlands and similar wide open spaces north of the Midlands

One of the original precursors of the domestic cat breed and frequently interbreeds with feral domestic cats - to the extent that the wildcat genes are in danger of being diluted

I'm not a cat lover, intensely dislike them in my garden and generally challenged them by out-staring them eye to eye - my neighbour's cat no longer ventures into my garden

I would never hurt or threaten to hurt cats though
