Hi Dinah,
I lurk in on your diary once in a while - it grows so quickly. Just wanted to wish you a 'Happy New Year'
It was so lovely to read your update - I keep telling my OH how inspirational you are and how much you have achieved.
Well done and good luck on your next challenge - I so know you are going to achieve it!
What a lovely love story too!
I'll go back to lurking again!

Well what can I say? On reading your prologue I was welling up, but then again I cry that adverts. Thank you so much for the name drop it was lovely. I have told OH that you are now DF and he was shocked as he has also been following the goings on, whether he likes it or not, so knows what a short time it has taken you.
LOL at you Dinah "I know what I'd be doing without you lot, getting some work done.
I have read through the new thread and thought oh need to quote that, oh and that but by the time I got to the end I had forgotten.
I'm am so proud to be part of this little team, yea go team Dinah:T:T:TTotal debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Your OH sounds so lovely Dinah. Bet you can't wait for Paris. Me and my OH went for 1 year anniversary and was really nice.
Weathers looking OK today which is good as having all my friends over later for a bbq.0 -

Oh no, you don't get off that easily. Once you post you're stuck with us!
Was very good at Ross Noble thingy last night, OH got me a bottle of water and I had a cream egg and some reeses pieces in celebration of your DF status Dinah. I did say 'To Dinah!' but my mouth was pretty full of chocolate and it came out as 'Tmo Difnaeh' but the meaning was there - all free though so didn't spend a penny!
Ooh, the BBQ sounds nice Wendz! When the boy gets back from work we're going to go have some chippies by the locks for our tea, then off to find a pub garden without the token fat red t-shirtless man to spend the evening there. Really fancy a BBQ now!
Promised my Ma I'd help her in the garden so I best get a move on, have a nice day everyone!!0 -
Lol sounds like everyone celebrated my being debt free more than I did! NIM has told me he's taking me out for dinner and to the cinema tonight (don't normally go to the cinema, too expensive!) in celebration.
Didn't book Paris, I got cold feet at how much it costs. Plus two weeks later it is NIMs brothers birthday so I want him to go to Ireland for that if something is happening, and he can't really take two weekends and part of a week in three off from both jobs. NIM is going to speak to his brother to try to assertain if it is worth him going back that weekend or not.
Didn't tidy last night, had a glass of wine, got my chocolate, then fell asleep! So today is tidying and ebaying (as most of the mess is ebay piles).
Have a nice day all xDebt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I watched embarrassing bodies on 4od catch up after all that talk about the veruccas on the other thread. OMG eeeeek!
Looking forward to some drinks tonight - double birthday/engagement celebration at the pub in the park.
We took your lead Birdie and started looking at some restaurants. These are much better value, finally some options within budget! Thanks!
Aww shame about Paris, Dinah, but you know your budget best. X x:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -
Dinah - this is the best thread I have read for ages! Congratulations - I can't believe you paid off so much debt so quickly! Unfortunately I didn't read your other diary but I will be following this one!
Just reading your first message has made me feel all warm inside
As you can see I have quite a way to go still, but we are aiming to be DF by September next year...Paying down the mortgage:
At 1 October 2011: £226,000
Currently: £224,499
Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
Paid £1,500
Target remaining: 88.89%0 -
Well done on the MSE plant Pilchard, all of mine seem to be dying, I do try to look after them but I don't think I have green fingers! Maybe I should just give in and buy fake plants?!
Well, when OH saw the plant he just laughed and keeps doing childish impressions of the plant saying it wants to be a proper plant when it grows up. I'll have the last laugh when I've saved £18 on a grown up one! I've been trying to educate him in the use of cashback sites but he keeps buying things and forgets to use them so I guess I'm going to have to do double daily clicks for me and him......a woman's work is never done!!! I'll teach him yet
Hope everyone has a good weekend xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -
Hi Dinah,
Read most of (and posted on) your last thread but gave up eventually cos it moved so fast! Can't believe that you cleared £16K of debt in 10 months, that is fab and you and NIM (always wondered what that stood for) are so happy. Good luck with your mortgage savings, I'm hoping to do the same once my debts are cleared which will be much longer than 10 months!
Will subscribe and hopefully keep up this time!0
