Jealous of your Vineyreviewerness Dinah! Sounds fab, have fun with all the free books. Once you've reviewed them will you be able to sell them on as second hand on Amazon if you don't want to keep them?
That's the sneeky plan!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

So far I have:
Letting Go of the Glitz The true story of one woman's struggle to live the simple life in Chelsea
By: Julia Stephenson A Fascinating and hilarious insight into a party girl turned green goddess. --SHE Magazine A sparklingly honest, wonderfully posh and terribly funny read. Like Tatler with a conscience. --Press Association Funny, but with an eco message at heart, this is a fascinating true story. --Closer Magazine
Dr Ragab's Universal Language
By: Robert Twigger Charlatan. Guru. Master of disguise. Ahead of his time, wise beyond his years, a simple opportunist or the great pretender; however you choose to see him, one fact is certain: Dr Ragab is a mysterious man. Talked about by pretty much everyone in 1920s Cairo, only a few get the chance to make his acquaintance, and fewer still - one person, in fact - get to study his life lessons. Hertwig is that lucky soul. Or not so lucky, perhaps: not when he finds himself, at the very end of the second world.
Love and Obstacles
By: Aleksandar Hemon Set in the darkest heart of Africa, in the backwaters of Slovenia, in the melting pot of Chicago, this brilliant collection of stories is coloured throughout by the 1992 Bosnian war. All but one of them features Bogdan, first met as a surly teenager during his diplomat father's assignment in Zaire, where he's happily corrupted by a degenerate American espionage agent. In each successive story, Bogdan recalls the surreal and salient experiences of his life.
Ed Hardy Art for Life
By: Alan Govenar At the age of ten, Don Ed Hardy recognized the unique force of tattoo art. Growing up in the centre of 1950s and early 60s California pop culture, he went on to earn an art school degree and then learned to tattoo by apprenticing himself to master artists. Over the past forty years Hardy has revolutionized this ancient tradition while also bringing fresh energy to the classical mediums of painting, printmaking and ceramics through his exhibitions across the United States and abroad.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Might be made of dust?!
Ah good, as we all know from Little Britain, there are hardly any calories in dust
I agree Birdie, everything gives you cancer, but I don't smoke and never have so I guess a few sweeteners will be ok
I sort of feel the same way as your mum Dinah though, I understand what she means, and am normally all for the exercise-so-you-can-eat-what-you-like-without-gaining-weight ... but for the purposes of losing a bit of weight, I'm going for the low cal option! Should be able to relax a bit at the end of Sept.
Yes, how did it go last night? What did you bake? OH and I are making these flapjacks tonight that he's seen in his walking magazine - they're full of nuts, seeds and berries and supposed to be great for giving energy on long walks.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Dust? Dust anyone? Dust!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

We just took some flowers and a mini-box of Guillian chocolates in the end. I'm hoping to make NIM some flapjack next week, apparently he's a big fan. Won't be as healthy as yours though!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Dust? Dust anyone? Dust!
I completely forgot about that! :rotfl: Back in the days when LB was good.
Those books sound great Dinah! Any idea when they'll turn up?
I'm meant to be reviewing some things for Toluna but haven't actually heard anything since I signed up, which was only Monday but still, thought they might send an email or something
In pain today, only just kicked in.. top of my arms, thighs and tummy, must be the good type of pain, right?0 -
Back in the days when LB was good.
Exactly, I hate it now, the horrible woman who wees everywhere and the sicky WI women - not funny!
Yep, good pain! I had really bad tummy pain yesterday, but I know it was from exercising my 'core strength' the day beforeDidn't go to the gym in the end last night, but I did do some ironing and cleaned the bathroom, which counts as exercise on food focus (tho so does 'sitting down playing with children'
) - going to go today though, but maybe not the rowing machine as my chest and shoulders haven't quite recovered from the press-ups

Ooh, my DVD kept telling me to use my core strength! It's an American plan though and the woman kept on saying c'mon keep up y'all. It's 'The Firm' things I'm doing now, actually pretty good for a home dvd! If I manage to keep it up over Dinahs weight Challenge I think I'll go find a Pilates class to do in town.
They have some weird exercise bits on Food Focus, a few odd ones on boots diets too! Yesterday I looked up skipping and it burns 650kcal per hour (i think) so I set my timer and thought I'd give it a whirl, lasted 3 minutes
All the exercise talk reminds me - need to try a find a cheap iPod armband, keeps falling out my pocket!0 -
Well I see from your thread that you got the armband!
I've just got a little ipod shuffle that clips on so it's quite good for things like that. It's full of live Kings of Leon at the minute tho that OH put on for on holiday (he listens to music and I read) and it's not great for exercising to, not upbeat enough.
I'm terrible at skipping, I think I'm too tall so the rope gets caught a lot. I think heinght is a big hindrance to exercises - harder to balance etc. We were working with those stretchy bands the other day, had to stand on it with one foot and raise our arms out stright to shoulder (!) level - I couldn't do it at all but obviously I had to stretch the band a lot more than everyone else ... am I right? Or am I being a big wussy?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
