Dinah - Don't say that! OH keeps talking about getting engaged and says how there's an extra surprise to Kent, I know he'll be the guy I'll marry, but there's something about teenage engagements that are so cringey and false to me.

I had to comment on this! I'm 20, and my OH is 24. I'd love to get engaged, but I've told my OH, he can't do it until I've left uni cuz I agree with you Cinny, it seems weird!

I know a fair few people my age who are engaged, and it just seems not right cuz they're gonna be engaged forever. Saying that though, I do know one couple my age who got married when they were 18. Everyone thought it was very strange!

When I went to uni 4 out of the 6 girls in the flat above me were engaged on arrival or within 4 months, within 2 years 3 of them had broken up, one had gotten married (while still at uni) and they got divorced within the final term at uni!!!!

Can you imagine being a divorcee by the time you're 21?! Mental. :rotfl:

Personally, I can't wait to have an easier surname when I get married, cuz I have one that you have spell automatically as you say it.

Is Sims3 good? Not really heard much talk about it.
It's OK, I'm still kind of getting used to it and it's a bit rubbish going from loads of content with Sims 2 back to a 'basic' game! The Create a Sim is great; you can choose any body size from really skinny right up to really fat and really weedy to really muscley, it's a slider bar, as is skin tone. I spent ages last night playing with my Sim girl's hair making it the 'perfect' blond as you can choose any colours on the colour chart and there are 4 colours within each hair colour, IYKWIM, base, root, tip and highlights! One big gripe is that the time doesn't go quickly enough, even on 'super fast' it still takes forever so it's boring whilst your Sim is at work or asleep, I hope they sort that with a patch soon!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Lol I read amazon and people were complaining time was too quick and you couldn't do enough!

How are the controls compared to Sims2 Birdie? I read they were appauling, which is the main thing putting me off

I looooved sims2! I'd be seriously tempted to get Sims3 if I had a better laptop. I might dooyoo until I have enough in vouchers so it's 'free' then get my brothers old laptop out of the attic and just have a Sims laptop. That would be sad, wouldn't it?

I did! But I edited the first bit of my post and deleted it by accident. But my Wife and Hubby sims were rubbish, I think my brother went on once and made my man sim fall in love with the guy next door. I was not impressed and my lady sim got depressed (and burnt more ready meals)

Just looked on the order for my cardies and it says 'If you have paid for your order with a credit or debit card then we will process your payment in two stages. First we will charge your card with the full price of the order then we will refund your card with the value of the discount.' So that will explain the £12 odd! Phew!
